Crypto Update: Bitcoin inches close to $97k; AIXBT, TURBO lead altcoin gains while WING, ALPACA tumble

Bitcoin continued its upward momentum, rising 2.43% over the past 24 hours to trade at $96,979.50, inching closer to the $97,000 mark. The world's largest cryptocurrency is showing signs of sustained bullish sentiment, with other major coins also participating in the rally.
Ethereum followed with a 2.20% gain to trade at $1,844.90, while Litecoin (LTC) emerged as the top-performing major coin with a 5.59% surge to $89.54. Dogecoin (DOGE) also advanced by 4.23%, and Solana (SOL) gained 1.08%.
Among top altcoin movers: AIXBT led the gainers' chart, soaring 26.73%
TURBO rose 17.53%
IMX, ALPHA, and PIVX also posted strong double-digit gains
However, the market wasn't without its losers: WING plunged 52.40%, making it the biggest loser of the day
VIB and ALPACA fell by 46.33% and 44.23% respectively
MOVE, PUNDIX, and FLM also saw sharp declines
Despite some high-volatility declines among smaller-cap tokens, the overall market tone remains positive, led by Bitcoin's march toward new highs.
