The persistent Israeli bombardment and civilian casualties have prompted accusations of war crimes and genocide. Alongside the violence, Gaza is experiencing an escalating humanitarian catastrophe. According to The Guardian, citing aid agencies, Israel's blockade has created desperate and unprecedented conditions. Famine is reportedly more devastating than the airstrikes themselves. Oxfam reports that most children in Gaza now survive on less than one meal a day. As the war grinds on, calls are mounting for an immediate ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian corridors to prevent further civilian suffering in one of the world's most densely populated and devastated regions.

Israel dismisses reservists over Gaza ceasefire petition
Shafaq News/ Israel's Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Air Force Commander Tomer Bar have approved the dismissal of reservists who signed a petition demanding an immediate halt to military operations in Gaza, Israeli media reported on Thursday. The petition, backed by nearly 1,000 reserve officers and soldiers, argued the war now serves political interests rather than security objectives, putting both Israeli hostages and troops at increased risk. 'Only a deal can bring back the hostages safely, while military pressure mainly leads to their deaths and endangers our soldiers,' the letter stated. The signatories called on the public to push for a ceasefire, warning that continued delays 'put their lives at risk.' عاجل | يسرائيل هيوم عن قائد سلاح الجو: سنفصل جنود الاحتياط النشطين الموقعين على عريضة تطالب بإعادة المختطفين من غزة — الجزيرة - عاجل (@AJABreaking) April 10, 2025 Senior Air Force commanders contacted several signatories, pressuring them to withdraw their support.
