Monroe County road reopens after crash
MONROE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Monroe County road has reopened following a crash Monday morning. Gun-toting Mexican soldiers allegedly enter US soil, surround couple in New Mexico According to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency release, at about 6:48 a.m., a two-car crash involving a commercial vehicle led to the closure of the eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 84 near the 69-mile marker in Monroe County. Wrecker crews were on the scene removing the wrecked cars, and troopers are investigating, but the road has since reopened, according to the release. Three rescued after sport fishing boat catches fire 'Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly,' the release said. Talladega man, woman killed in Clay County crash
CLAY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash that occurred in Clay County on Saturday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Brenda Campbell, 59, of Talladega, was killed when the Chevrolet S-10 she was driving left the roadway, hit a tree and overturned. Homer Gallahair, 58, of Talladega, was a passenger in the pickup truck, and he was also killed. Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Alabama native Rick Bragg looks back on the Oklahoma City bombing 30 years later Campbell and Gallahair were reportedly not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Hale County woman dead after car hits tree
HALE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Hale County woman was killed in a car crash Sunday night, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Q'ueentria Ward, a 26-year-old from Akron, was fatally injured when the Jeep Compass she was operating hit a tree that fell on the road. The crash happened around 10 p.m. on Hale County 42 near Clary Drive. Most of the families applying for Alabama's new school vouchers have kids in non-public schools Ward died at the scene. Russell County crash kills Alabama teen
RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. ( — A Russell County crash has left a Huntsville, Ala., teen dead. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says an early-morning two-vehicle crash on U.S. 431 near mile marker 90 claimed the life of 19-year-old Emma Howard. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene, after being struck in her Jeep Wrangler by the rear end of a tractor-trailer driven by 23-year-old Trenton Parry of Gillsville, Georgia. Anniston woman, 21, dies in crash
CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A 21-year-old Anniston woman was killed in a crash Sunday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Abbigail Stovall, 21, was fatally injured when the Kia Optima she was operating departed the roadway, hit a culvert and flipped. The crash happened around 5:39 a.m. on Peeks Hill Road near Rock Springs Road. Alabama man, 69, killed in ATV crash Stovall, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
