Chase excellence, not rank: JEE Advanced topper with AIR 2 Saksham Jindal
Getting a top rank in JEE Advanced isn't easy. It takes steady effort, clear understanding, and staying motivated through ups and downs. Many students begin with a simple goal—to study well and do their best. But sometimes, with the right support and hard work, that goal turns into something what happened with Saksham Jindal. At first, he just wanted to give his best. But when he started scoring high in weekly tests at ALLEN and got 100 percentile in the JEE Main January session, he felt more confident. I made time to listen to music, talk to friends, and sleep well. Unbeaten Canada beats Norway 8-1 at U18 men's world hockey championship
ALLEN – Braeden Cootes scored twice and added an assist, Ryan Roobroeck had a goal and three assists, and Canada defeated Norway 8-1 at the under-18 men's world hockey championship on Monday. Lev Katzin also scored twice for the Canadians, who finished Group A play at the Credit Union of Texas Center in first place with a 4-0 record. Norway finished with no wins, one overtime loss and three regulation losses. Slovakia finished second in Group A, followed by Finland, Latvia and Norway. Alessandro Di Iorio, Cole Reschny and Keaton Verhoeff netted singles for the winners, who led 2-1 after the first period and 5-1 heading into the third. Brady Martin, Ben Kindel and Reschny each chipped in with two assists. Mikkel Eriksen scored for Norway, which was outshot 64-18. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Wednesday, and the semifinals are Friday. The gold-medal game and bronze-medal final are set for Saturday. Cole Reschny, Braeden Cootes and Brady Martin also scored for Canada, which led 1-0 after the first period and 4-0 heading into the third. Jere Somervuori scored for Finland, which slipped to two wins, a loss and an overtime loss. Unbeaten Canada will wrap up Group A action with a game against winless Norway on Monday. Canada, with wins over Slovakia (9-2), Latvia (7-1) and Finland, will finish first in Group A with a win or tie against Norway. The quarterfinals get underway Wednesday. Canada cruises past Slovakia 9-2 to open title defence at U18 men's hockey worlds
ALLEN – Braeden Cootes had two goals and three assists, Cameron Schmidt added two goals and one assist and Canada cruised to a 9-2 win over Slovakia at the under-18 men's world hockey championship on Thursday. Lev Katzin, Jackson Smith, Matthew Gard, Ryan Lin and Quinn Beauchesne also scored for the defending champion Canadians in the tournament opener. Jack Ivankovic made 22 saves in the win. Tomas Chrenko scored twice for Slovakia. Michal Pradel surrendered five goals on 16 shots before Samuel Hrenak came in for relief. Hrenak gave up four goals on 24 shots.
