'He Will Find A Way...': Star Haas Driver Backs Lewis Hamilton To Succeed In Ferrari

Esteban Ocon compares Haas and Ferrari, empathising with Hamilton's struggles adapting to Ferrari. Hamilton aims for better performance at Emilia Romagna GP.
Star Haas driver Esteban Ocon has said that his car and the Ferrari have a lot of similarities, and he understands the issues that Lewis Hamilton might be going through after having driven Mercedes for years, adding that the seven-time world champion will find a way.
Hamilton's high-profile switch to Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season, which raised a lot of eyebrows in the Formula 1 paddocks, has till now not gone according to plan.
Hamilton has struggled to adapt to the demands of Ferrari's car philosophy, and most recently, he could only finish in eighth place at the Miami Grand Prix in another challenging weekend.
'It's very difficult, especially when you change car philosophy. The Haas car and the Ferrari car have a lot of similarities, so I can relate to Lewis on that side. I have driven the Mercedes as well in the past, so it is a very different way of driving the car or extracting the potential of it," Ocon said while speaking to RacingNews365.
'The car feels very different, so it is not easy for sure to adapt to that. But I am sure he will find a way very quickly," Ocon added.
The 28-year-old Frenchman had joined Mercedes as their reserve driver for 2019 to drive their AMG F1 W10 EQ Power+.
Hamilton's underwhelming start to life with Ferrari has triggered doubt and criticism of his racing craft across the scene.
Through the first six races with Ferrari till now, Hamilton's best result remains his fifth-place finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
While Hamilton has bagged podiums at the two sprint races, he is yet to replicate any of those performances during a full Grand Prix weekend.
Hamilton will now shift his focus to recording an improved performance at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. He had finished sixth in his Mercedes at the Imola GP last year.
Meanwhile, Hamilton, one of the co-chairs of the recent Met Gala, was among the early arrivals alongside gala supremo Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue.
Hamilton wowed in a sharp cream suit and matching backwards cap, diamonds glittering in his ears, as well as on his lapel, cuffs and hands.
