Fun STEM-based events to inspire young minds this school holidays
ARIF the mascot will greet and meet visitors to Petrosains, The Discovery Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
With the mid-year school holidays just around the corner, why not spark children's imagination with fun and hands-on learning at Petrosains, The Discovery Centre in Kuala Lumpur?
From May 29 to June 6, Cuti Sekolah @ Petrosains returns with a curated 90-minute workshop designed to ignite curiosity and power change through a series of science, technology, engineering and mathematics-based (STEM) activities.
Children aged 10 and above can explore, invent and create with activities ranging from making eco-friendly keychains to flying a drone.
Some of the highlights include turning a flat piece of plastic into a custom keychain and learning how recycling plastic containers can help reduce waste and conserve biodiversity.
Other activities include learning how to design and create 3D shapes.
Participants will also build simple circuits using modular cubes and LEDs.
The workshop also allows participants to explore electricity by creating working circuits with modular components such as copper tape, LEDs and buzzers.
In addition, the children will be treated to live science shows, including learning how drones fly and are used in real-world applications such as deliveries and rescue missions.
A live drone swarm performance will showcase the power of coding, sensors and teamwork.
At Petrosains Games Corner, children can explore sustainability concepts through challenges like Carbonopoly, Power the Grid and Wildlife Warrior.
Get ready to meet and greet Petrosains' newly launched mascot – ARIF (A Resourceful Intelligent Friend).
The workshop is priced at RM70 per participant.
