Real Madrid centre-back pushing to return before FIFA Club World Cup
Eder Militao has seen close to two seasons destroyed through injuries and it is catastrophic how he suffered back to back ACL injuries in both legs – the second being weeks after recovering from the first. The player missed most of the ongoing season due to the injury and has been working hard on the sidelines to push for a return at the earliest. Advertisement Earlier this month, the club was handed a massive boost when the player returned, in part, to train with the group and thus marked a new milestone in his recovery. A record time As relayed by AS, Real Madrid hope for Militao to keep going on the same track and recover at the earliest. The player is desirous of travelling with the team to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup and the possibility is not ruled out. Closing in on a comeback. (Photo by) Had the season not ended, Militao would have even returned to complete team training soon but is now working individually as the non-injured players have been gifted a break until the beginning of June. Advertisement The Brazilian star returned to group training in just 195 days this time around as compared to the 209 days he took last time. Needless to say, that arrives as a great positive for Real Madrid although they must continue to exert caution. Carlo Ancelotti's indiscriminate use of Militao immediately after his return from a long layoff was partially responsible for the player's relapse and Real Madrid hope that Xabi Alonso will be more cautious on that front this time. With Dean Huijsen and Raul Asencio available as first-team players immediately, Los Blancos do have options to cover in the department although Militao does dream of seeing at least a few minutes in the upcoming event.

Real Madrid identify their next big summer signing
Real Madrid are set to make their next move in the transfer market, and the focus is now shifting from defence to midfield. In fact, recent reports from AS affirm that Como midfielder Nico Paz will be the first signing to strengthen the key area. The 20-year-old midfielder, who once played in Madrid's youth teams, had an outstanding season in Italy and caught the attention of the decision-makers at Valdebebas. Advertisement He was sold to Como last summer for €6 million, but Real Madrid smartly held onto 50% of his rights and inserted a buy-back clause in the deal. That clause allows the Spanish giants to re-sign him for just €8 million this summer. If they choose to wait, they can still bring him back in 2026 for €9 million or in 2027 for €10 million. With the way he is performing, though, it looks like Madrid want to move quickly. Proven talent and affordable deal Nico played eight matches for Real Madrid's first team during the 2023-24 season, showing he has the quality to compete at the top level. Real Madrid are set to sign Nico Paz. (Photo by) His experience in Serie A, a tough and competitive league, has helped him grow into a more complete player. The fact that Real Madrid already know what he can offer makes this deal even more appealing. Advertisement Bringing him back now would cost just €8 million, a small fee considering today's inflated market, especially with Toni Kroos already gone and Luka Modric will leave soon. Real Madrid are focused on fixing their injury-hit defence ahead of the Club World Cup, but now they must turn their attention to the midfield. Modric and Kroos have been key players for years, and their exits will leave a massive gap in the squad. In that regard, Nico's return could be the first step in a summer rebuild. He is affordable, talented, and already knows the club.

Spanish outlet highlights Atlético Madrid's interest in Woltemade
After just one season at VfB Stuttgart, Nick Woltemade could be on the move again this summer if reports are accurate. According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," Atlético Madrid is said to be interested in the Swabians' towering marksman. The report suggests the club from the Spanish capital is willing to sign the German international if they can find a buyer for Correa. Woltemade's flexibility, coupled with his ability on the ball and clinical edge, are listed as reasons for Atlético's interest. Whether Woltemade will leave VfB Stuttgart, however, is questionable. He currently has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2028.
