When is King of the Hill reboot releasing? Cast and where to watch

After 16 years, King of the Hill is making a comeback. The new season—Season 14—will be released on August 4, 2025. All 10 episodes will come out on the same day, so fans can watch the whole season at once. In the US, the show will stream only on Hulu, and international viewers can watch it on Disney+ through the Hulu hub. The show was originally created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. It aired from 1997 to 2009, and people loved it for its mix of humor, family stories, and small-town life. It's set in a made-up town called Arlen, Texas, and follows propane salesman Hank Hill, his quirky family, and his funny neighbors. The new season picks up about 15 years later. Hank and Peggy Hill have just come back from Saudi Arabia, where Hank was working in propane. But Arlen has changed. The town now has things like social media, smart homes, and delivery drones. Also Read: Clint Hill, Secret Service agent who leapt onto JFK's car after the president was shot, dies at 93 Bobby Hill, who used to be a goofy middle schooler, is now 21 years old and living in Dallas. He's trying to become a professional chef. His story now focuses on adult life, chasing dreams, and figuring out who he is. Some of Bobby's old friends are back too: Connie is a violinist living in New York. Joseph is still his wild, funny self. Chane returns and reconnects with Bobby. Dale Gribble, always full of conspiracy theories, is now worried about AI and tech surveillance—bringing in new jokes that feel very current. There's also a new high school principal, and many local businesses in Arlen have closed or changed. The show still feels like King of the Hill, but now it talks about today's issues too—like climate change, politics, and how people live in a digital world. Bobby Hill grows up One of the biggest changes in the show is Bobby Hill. He's not a kid anymore—he's an adult trying to make it as a chef. His life brings new stories about growing up, working toward goals, and reconnecting with old friends. Who's back in the cast? The original cast is back: Mike Judge voices Hank Hill and Boomhauer. Kathy Najimy is back as Peggy Hill. Pamela Adlon returns as Bobby. Stephen Root is back as Bill. Lauren Tom returns as Minh. Ashley Gardner is back as Nancy. Jonathan Joss returns as John Redcorn. Sadly, Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale, passed away in 2023. But he finished voice work for six episodes. Toby Huss is stepping in to voice Dale in the other four episodes. The new season also has a brand-new opening scene that shows what life is like today. You'll see Boomhauer wearing a VR headset, Bobby scrolling on a food app, and Dale flying a drone while warning about AI. It's a fun way to show how the world has changed, but the heart of the show is still the same. A sneak peek of the revival was shown at the ATX TV Festival in Austin on May 30, 2025. Fans loved it and were happy to see that the show still feels like King of the Hill, just with a modern twist.

'King of the Hill' revival: Cast reveals what older Hank, Bobby, Peggy are up to now

'King of the Hill' revival: Cast reveals what older Hank, Bobby, Peggy are up to now Show Caption Hide Caption The most anticipated TV shows of 2025 USA TODAY TV critic Kelly Lawler shares her top 5 TV shows she is most excited for this year AUSTIN, TX – The 'King of the Hill' revival is really cooking with propane now. Hulu revealed that Season 14 of the former Fox series will debut Aug. 4, with all 10 episodes. The streamer also released an updated credits sequence illustrating what Hank Hill, his wife Peggy, their son Bobby and their friends in the fictitious Texas town of Arlen have been up to since signing off in 2010. The Hills moved, and their neighbors waited out a pandemic while social distancing in the alley. Later, the Hills returned, looking older from the years gone by. Co-creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge, who also voices Hank Hill, joined executive producer Saladin Patterson and voice actors Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss onstage May 30 at the Paramount Theatre to tease the upcoming season during a panel for ATX TV Festival. 'Where it clicked for me,' Judge told an audience ready to yell memorable quotes, was "when we started talking about actually aging the characters and the idea of Hank, that they went to Saudi Arabia for a propane gig to retire off of. Ideas started coming in.' Seth Meyers grants closer look at his anxious writer brain: 'Always chewing its own nail' In a clip shared with fans, Hank is so happy to be back in Texas that he kisses the ground at the airport after his return flight. Now retired, Hank 'finds himself not having a job to go to every day,' Patterson said, so 'he's going to find things around the house to fix all the time, which may annoy his wife.' As for Peggy (Kathy Najimy), Patterson said, 'if there's a character who thinks that she can do anything and now she has the free time to do it, let's have some fun with what those anythings could be.' Bobby (Adlon), now in his 20s, is a successful chef at a German-sushi-fusion restaurant in Dallas. 'He's a hard worker; he learned from his parents,' Adlon said. 'It's almost like as an adult, he's become more centered and a little bit like his dad.' Johnny Hardwick, the voice of Hank's pal, Dale died in 2023 at 64. Hardwick will appear in six episodes of the revival, Judge told the crowd, and Huss is taking over the role of Dale. 'The fact that you guys trusted me to do his voice again is really humbling,' Huss said. 'And all I've been trying to do is − I'm not trying to copy Johnny as much as I guess as I'm trying to be Johnny. And hopefully Dale comes out through that. But it's with a lot of love and respect for that guy because he laid down a really wonderful, goofball character that… had a lot of weird heart to him and, and that's a credit to Johnny. So all I'm trying to do is to hold on to that Dale-ness… We love our guy, Johnny, and it's so sad that he's not here.' During the panel, Daniels highlighted the talents of Brittany Murphy, who died in 2009 at 32 from pneumonia. Murphy voiced the role of Hank and Peggy's niece Luanne. 'One of the people I would point out who was brilliant, who's no longer here is Brittany Murphy,' Daniels said. 'Brittany's a person who never read (the script) the way you thought it was going to be read.' Luanne married Lucky, voiced by Tom Petty. The singer died in 2017 at 66 from an accidental drug overdose. 'We found opportunities,' Patterson said, 'to let them be referenced in the show so that we know the importance that they had both in the characters' lives. And I feel in a very respectful way that people are going to appreciate.'

Photo courtesy of AMC Networks May 30 (UPI) -- AMC Networks shared first-look photos and a release window for Talamasca, a new series in its Anne Rice Immortal Universe, during the ATX TV Festival Friday. Talamasca, which premieres in October, is about "a secretive society called the Talamasca, comprised of the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires and other creatures scattered around the globe," according to a press release. Celine Buckens and Jason Schwartzman join the cast as Doris and Burton, respectively. Doris lives on a houseboat among witches, while Burton is a vampire residing in a penthouse in New York. Buckens will appear as a series regular, while Schwartzman will guest star. Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner and Maisie Richardson-Sellers were previously announced to star. Executive producer Mark John told UPI in January that the show is "almost a spy story, with a hint of the vampires and witches and other things we associate with Anne Rice." Like Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire, Talamasca is inspired by the late author's books. The network also announced the Mayfair Witches writers are now discussing the show's third season, while Interview with the Vampire is about to begin filming Season 3.

Seth Meyers grants closer look at his anxious writer brain: 'Always chewing its own nail'

Seth Meyers grants closer look at his anxious writer brain: 'Always chewing its own nail' Show Caption Hide Caption Conan O'Brien, Will Ferrell take aim at President Trump Comedians, like Conan O'Brien and Will Ferrell, took aim at President Donald Trump as they gathered to honor Conan O'Brien at the Kennedy Center. AUSTIN, TX – Seth Meyers' mind is always racing, he says in the back room of a downtown restaurant with stacked wine bottles and an antler chandelier. It'd be a cozy spot for one of his 'Late Night' Day Drinking segments, in which he and celebrities like Dua Lipa and Lizzo just let it rip. 'My writer brain is always chewing its own nail,' says the comedian, currently enjoying Season 12 of "Late Night with Seth Meyers," his NBC talk show (Monday through Thursday, 12:35 a.m. ET/PT). He's 'anxious,' because the need for more material never ceases. 'They'll give you credit for your last joke for about seven minutes,' he says. But at least he's been able to shop chewing his fingernails, which makes him 'very proud of myself.' Meyers, 51, jokes that downing booze is the only way to lull his overactive mind to sleep. 'The only way to make my writer brain go to bed is drink a lot,' he says playfully, 'really fast, and I know it's unhealthy and kids shouldn't do it, but I think it makes for pretty good television.' And good stories, with which Meyers entertained an audience at Austin's Paramount Theatre for the opening night of the ATX TV Festival, between sips of a Negroni. (The festival concludes June 1.) Kevin Hart, who appeared in a September installment of Day Drinking called Meyers and cursed him out the next day, Meyers told the crowd. After knocking them back with Rihanna in 2019, Meyers 'went home and fell asleep in the foyer of my apartment building,' he said, 'and she was definitely on her way out. I was like, 'This is the end of times,' and she was like, 'Oh, I thought we were pre-gaming.'' But Meyers' constantly churning brain can't conceive where he'll be when his current 'Late Night' contract runs out in 2028. Ever since James Corden left CBS in 2023, Meyers' is the last traditional talk show at the 12:30 hour. 'I can't picture a world where I would want to stop doing it,' he says. 'But I also have found, from the very beginning of my career in this business, you just have to focus on the day you're doing the show. There's no version of me getting ahead of what 2028 is going to look like that is going to be even close to right.' Even Meyers' 'Late Night' start came as a surprise. He didn't aim to replace Jimmy Fallon when Fallon moved to 'The Tonight Show' in 2014. 'Saturday Night Live' creator Lorne Michaels, also executive producer of 'Late Night,' recruited Meyers, then the head 'SNL' writer and 'Weekend Update' anchor. 'The whole journey of getting a show like this is when you get it, first you just try to do a good enough job that they'll let you keep having it,' he says. 'And then the longer you do it, the more you bend it to your own personality and your own skill set. You stop trying to imitate and you start trying to be your authentic self, and I think we get closer to it every day.' SNL turns 50! How Lorne Michaels made comedy cool again | The Excerpt 'It's an industry that's constantly facing challenges,' he says. 'Late Night' lost its house music, the 8G Band, in 2024 to budget cuts. 'But I don't think anybody at our network thinks I'm going to be the one smart enough to solve the problems of, like, how to fix TV.' Meyers giddily anticipates his weekly 'Corrections' bit, during which he addresses 'Late Night' mistakes. The political segment 'A Closer Look,' now primarily focused on President Donald Trump, is one of Meyers' most popular. 'At some point, you can't just accept his behavior,' Meyers says. 'So you have to keep talking about it. But ultimately you can't change his behavior, either. All you can really do is have the catharsis of sharing with people this idea that it's not OK.' Meyers gets a welcome reprieve from Trump in his standup comedy act, which draws from his personal life. He and human rights attorney Alexi Ashe share sons Ashe, 9, and Axel, 7, and daughter Adelaide, 3. Meyers and Alexi are in 'constant conversation' to make sure Meyers avoids 'anything about the kids that is traumatic, and we'll have to pay for 10 years from now,' he says. Alexi, whom Meyers married in 2013, 'does have veto power' over jokes about their family life. 'But she rarely uses it,' the host says. 'She roots for my success. So if I have a good joke where she's the punch line, she tends to let me keep it in the act.' The audience at the Paramount Theatre May 29 erupted with laughter at a sampling of Meyers' slice-of-life comedy. 'I walk my boys to school, and I allow them to do Wordle with me on the walk because I think it would be rude if I was a dad just looking at my phone while I was with my kids,' Meyers said. 'But if all three of us are looking at the phone, that's parenting. 'I guess it was my 9-year-old (who goes), 'Ahhh, I got a word, but it's only four letters,' Meyers continued. A four-letter expletive that he shared with Meyers. 'And I said, 'Jesus!'' Meyers recalled. 'Then he goes, 'Is that five?'' Meyers responded, 'Yes, but it's a proper name.'
