views The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) hosted the First Edition of the Spotlight Awards ceremony to honour the exceptional achievements of its students during the 2024–2025 academic year. The event celebrated individuals who excelled across a range of domains, including academic performance, research, leadership, athletics, and community service, while also highlighting their creative contributions across diverse disciplines. The ceremony took place at the AUBH Auditorium and was attended by faculty members, administrative staff, and students. It commenced with a keynote address by Dr Amal Alawadhi, Dean of Students at AUBH, who highlighted the university's strong commitment to recognizing student achievement as a central pillar of its academic vision. Dr Alawadhi stressed that celebrating student success goes beyond institutional recognition—it represents a national priority, and affirmed that the accomplishments of AUBH students stand as a testament to the university's dedication to nurturing future leaders equipped to play a vital role in the Kingdom's continued advancement. Following the keynote address, certificates and awards were presented to outstanding students. Among them were the winners of various competitions including the 1st place recipients of the CFA Society Bahrain Research Challenge, the StartUp Bahrain Pitch Competition, and the BSCAA Football Cup championship. Recognition was also extended to the founders of the 'Serv' app, winners of Tamkeen's Mashroo3i Program. Additionally, those celebrated included the 1st place winners of the Global Student Research Hackathon in Saudi Arabia, the 1st place winners of the 3rd AUE Debate Tournament, winners of the 48-Hour Film Challenge, and the 1st place winners of the TradeQuest Investment Trading Competition for universities. Dr Amal Alawadhi commented: 'This ceremony marks the culmination of a year defined by perseverance, intellectual development, and meaningful engagement by our students. We are immensely proud to honour a diverse group whose accomplishments across academics, research, and extracurricular fields have been truly exemplary.'

The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) is set to host Sustain Bahrain 2025, Scopus Indexed International Conference on June 23–24, under the theme 'Empowering Innovation for a Sustainable Future. The conference will take place at the University's Auditorium and will bring together a distinguished group of international experts and specialists in the fields of sustainability, environmental science, climate studies, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Scopus-indexed event This international conference is positioned as a comprehensive academic platform, distinguished by its inclusion of an extensive selection of peer-reviewed research papers, scholarly articles, academic references, and specialised periodicals. All contributions are indexed in Scopus, one of the world's foremost academic databases, underscoring the event's scholarly integrity, research depth, and global academic relevance. The programme will cover a diverse set of research tracks, such as sustainable business, management, finance, and Islamic banking. It will also explore the role of digital transformation and sustainable innovation in smart technology, sustainable engineering and green innovation, the impact of sustainable tourism on economic growth in Bahrain and GCC region, as well as interdisciplinary research and innovation across various academic and professional domains. Expert panels Two major panel discussions will be featured during the event. The first, titled 'Fostering Innovation and Sustainability in the GCC,' will offer in-depth perspectives on the evolving sustainability landscape within the Gulf region.
