4 speedy WRs to watch for Arizona Cardinals in offseason The Cardinals could use some speed from their WR room. These four players will vie for that role.
Most believe that the Arizona Cardinals need a speed receiver as part of their offensive rotation. That makes sense. While Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson are not slow, they are not known for their long speed. Greg Dortch is one of the quickest players in terms of elusiveness and change of direction, but he is the slowest in the room in terms of long speed (with a 4.59-second 40 at his pro day).
The Cardinals have some receivers on the roster to watch who can perhaps add that element.
Darren Urban noted the addition of Quez Watkins. He isn't the only fast guy, although he is the fastest.
Wide receivers to watch to fill No. 3-4 WR role
Quez Watkins: Watkins ran the 40 in 4.35 seconds and is six feet tall. He had over 600 yards in 2022, averaging 15 yards per catch with the Eagles.
Zay Jones: Jones was playing like the WR3 in terms of snaps by the end of last season. He only had eight receptions in 2024 after he was suspended five games and then worked his way into the rotation. He had 823 receiving yards in 2022 for Jacksonville. He is 6-foot-2 and posted a 4.45-second 40 when he come out of college.
Simi Fehoko: Fehoko is the one receiver the Cardinals added new to the room since free agency began. He is 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.44 seconds. He adds length and speed. The Cardinals guaranteed almost all his salary and paid him $250,000 to sign. He had only six catches for 106 yards last season for the L.A. Chargers but played 244 offensive snaps, his first extended playing time on offense in his career.
Xavier Weaver: Weaver made the team as an undrafted rookie last year. He is 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, and his pro day 40 time was 4.42 seconds. The team seems to like him and he got a little playing time late last season.
