Botcha accuses NDA government of deceiving women by not implementing ‘Aadabidda Nidhi' scheme
Leader of the Opposition in the A.P. Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana on Monday alleged that the TDP-led NDA government reneged on its election promise of providing ₹1,500 a month to women in the age of 18-59 under the 'Aada bidda' scheme.
Addressing a media conference here on Monday, Mr. Satyanarayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had said in at a recent meeting that he had included the funds under the scheme to the P4 programme. This indicates that the TDP has no intention of implementing the scheme.
He wondered what was the connection between P4 and 'Aada bidda' scheme, under which ₹18,000 a year was promised to each beneficiary. He sought to know as to when the estimated one crore beneficiaries under the scheme would be given the money.
The YSRCP MLC recalled that Mr. Naidu and leaders of the NDA parties had promised to implement 'Super Six' promises before the elections. During the rule of an earlier TDP government, he had promised to waive the DWCRA loans but conveniently forgot it after assuming power. The 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme was not implemented last year, he added.
Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that the differences among the alliance partners came to the fore during the election of the Deputy Mayor in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on Monday. The alliance corporators did not attend the election in adequate numbers due to their differences on the choice of candidate for the post of Deputy Mayor, which led to the postponement of the election due to lack of quorum.
