SSC Recruitment: Now, govt jobs aspirants can apply through dedicated mobile app
Government jobs aspirants can now apply for recruitment tests conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) through an upgraded mobile application developed by it, a top official said on Thursday. He said the upgraded 'mySSC app' will be of great help to job aspirants, especially those from rural areas. 'All candidates applying for recruitment exams conducted by SSC can fill the entire application form through the application itself,' said SSC Chairman S Gopalakrishnan. He said there is no specific need to go to any computer centre or depend on any other operator in order to fill up and submit applications. 'The candidates can also identify themselves through Aadhaar OTP and face authentication on the same app,' Gopalakrishnan said. He said the application developed for SSC by Cubastion Consulting firm is going to be a big boon for the candidates and would add to ease of dealing with the Commission throughout the exam cycle from applying till joining. 'We are happy to be a part of this change with SSC,' said Cubastion co-founder and CEO Ravi Kumar. He said India's digital expansion requires trusted platforms and by bringing together biometric identity verification and Aadhaar-enabled services 'we are making mass hiring fairer, more secure, and accessible, particularly for rural candidates'. Until now, many of these candidates relied heavily on common service centres and cyber cafes to fill out their application forms, often at a cost, Kumar said. 'With the new mySSC app, candidates can now complete the entire process – from registration to application – directly on their mobile phones. It removes private middlemen from the system and puts power back into the hands of the applicants. Our future vision is to make this app a one-stop solution for the entire recruitment lifecycle,' he added. In the past, candidates could apply online through the Commission's website and take a live photo via the mySSC mobile app, according to a notice issued by the SSC. 'Starting from June 2025, the entire application process can now be completed seamlessly within the app itself,' said the notice dated June 2, 2025. Candidates will be able to apply for SSC examination using specific android mobile phones through the mySSC mobile app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store, it said. 'This will be applicable for all the exams being conducted June 2025 onwards,' the Commission said. The mySSC mobile app of the Commission has been significantly upgraded which is aimed at enhancing the user experience and expanding the range of services available, it said. The update would include integration of the Aadhaar authentication services, the Commission said. In order to apply through the mySSC mobile app, candidates must first register using their Aadhaar number on the OTR page. The mobile app works only on Android phones with version 11 or higher, the SSC said. Before applying for the examinations candidates must also install the Aadhaar Face RD app on their phone to complete the face authentication form, it said and shared a link to it. In another notice issued on Wednesday, the Commission said that candidates are seeking clarification whether demographic details such as name, date of birth, address etc. from Aadhaar will prevail over the data filled by the candidates in the OTR form. 'In this regard, it is clarified that the information entered by the candidates in the OTR shall be treated as final for all recruitment related purposes and details mentioned in Aadhaar will not override the candidate-provided information in OTR,' the notice said. The SSC had in April this year decided to implement Aadhaar-based biometric authentication in its all examinations in order to verify candidates' identity on a voluntary basis. The Commission is one of the largest recruitment agencies of the central government with its main mandate to conduct selections for non-gazetted posts in various central ministries and departments, among others. The SSC conducts seven mandated all India open competitive examinations, including the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) besides three limited departmental competitive examinations, according to the officials

Govt job aspirants can now apply for SSC exams via new mobile app
New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): Aspiring candidates for government jobs can now apply for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recruitment exams using an enhanced mobile application developed by the Commission. In partnership with Cubastion Consulting Pvt. Ltd., SSC has launched a significantly upgraded version of its official app -- My SSC -- to streamline and secure the application and registration process for candidates nationwide. The new version, available since 2 June 2025, incorporates advanced features such as Aadhaar-linked OTP authentication, one-time registration, and face recognition using the Aadhaar Face RD app. The goal of the updated system is to ensure foolproof and impersonation-free registration for Group B and Group C posts under SSC. Applicants register once using their Aadhaar number, verify via OTP sent to their Aadhaar-linked phone number, and complete KYC and facial authentication during application submission. A UID token is generated post-verification to ensure that only genuine applicants can proceed. 'This is a national milestone. We are launching Face RD integration in SSC for the first time at this scale. This will substantially cut impersonation and enhance trust in our recruitment systems,' said S Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, SSC. So far, 40,000 applications have been successfully completed through this system, with over 2 lakh more in progress. Officials estimate around 30 lakh total applications. The verification process at exam centres uses the UID token and registration ID, positioning it as the most secure recruitment procedure currently in place in India. The My SSC app is available for download on the Google Play Store, enabling millions of job seekers to apply confidently and independently. (ANI)

Biometric attendance for Chandigarh cops at HQ mandatory from June
1 2 Chandigarh: The police administration is modernising its attendance system by implementing the Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system (AEBAS) at the headquarters. This digital transition aims to streamline the attendance process for all personnel deployed at the police headquarters in Sector 9. The new system requires staff members to download two essential applications: Aadhaar Face RD and Aadhaar BAS, available on Google Play Store. These applications will facilitate facial recognition-based attendance marking, making the process more efficient and transparent. The implementation timeline is clearly defined, with all staff members required to have the applications installed and operational by June 1. This includes executive officers, ministerial staff, home guard volunteers (HGVs), and outsourced personnel working at the headquarters. To ensure smooth adoption of the system, the IT manager stationed on the first floor of the headquarters will provide technical support to staff members experiencing difficulties with the applications. This support system aims to address any challenges that might arise during the transition period. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo Non-compliance with these directives could lead to disciplinary proceedings against the staff members. Chandigarh: Protest held against sacking of 7 UT employees over attendance
Employees from the UT administration, municipal corporation and various departments staged a protest in front of the social welfare department office in Sector 17 against the dismissal of seven employees on the grounds of non-compliance with attendance requirements through the AadhaarBAS/AadhaarFaceRD mobile application on personal smartphones. The dharna was led by Federation of UT Employees and Workers, Chandigarh senior vice-president Rajendra Katoch. Other key leaders present included Harkesh Chand, Sunita Sharma, Naseeb Singh, Toplan, Sukhwinder Singh and Ranjit Singh. Addressing the protesters, federation's general secretary Gopal Dutt Joshi strongly condemned the termination of seven crèche workers and helpers, alleging that the UT social welfare department officials acted vindictively. He stated, 'First, the workers were merged with the Anganwadi scheme, their salaries were halved, they were placed on honorarium, and all benefits were withdrawn. Now, seven employees have been dismissed on the pretext of not marking attendance via the facial authentication app.' Speakers at the protest highlighted that approximately 1,317 employees work under the ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) of the social welfare department. As of now, only about half of these employees are marking their attendance using the said app. The department had set April 7, 2025, as the deadline for all employees to begin using the app. However, the seven dismissed employees had already started marking their attendance before the deadline. Despite this, they were terminated on April 4, they claimed. 'Surprisingly, while around 125 employees were merely asked to submit explanations for not using the app, and 400–450 employees are still not using it, these seven were singled out and dismissed in haste,' the protesters said. They alleged that the real reason was that these employees had raised a demand for mobile phones and recharge allowances—like provisions made for Anganwadi workers—after complying with the app-based attendance. The union and federation have submitted memorandums to the concerned authorities demanding that the dismissal orders be revoked, but no positive response has been received so far. During the protest, a memorandum addressed to the Chandigarh chief secretary was submitted via SDM (Central) Naveen, demanding immediate intervention, cancellation of the dismissal orders, and reinstatement of the affected employees. The protesters issued a warning to the social welfare department, stating that if the dismissals are not revoked, employees from all departments across Chandigarh will observe a work stoppage on June 6, followed by a massive demonstration and a complete strike on July 9, 2025.

Chandigarh: From June 1, MC to link staff pay with biometric attendance
To enhance transparency and accountability among the workforce and identify the regular absentees or the ghost employees, the Chandigarh municipal corporation (MC) is set to link salaries with the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) for all its employees, including regular, contractual, outsourced, and field staff from June 1, 2025. This decision was taken in a review meeting held on Thursday, under the municipal commissioner Amit Kumar. From April 1, biometric attendance had been made mandatory for all employees. Prior to this, only the office staff marked their attendance through a biometric system while the field staff used the old system of registering their presence on notebooks. Officials in the civic body said the move has come as a majority of the employees do not come to office as per their schedule or leave early. Also, the move aims to identify the ghost employees, especially those on the field duties. 'As part of this initiative, all MC employees must register on the NIC's Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Attendance will be marked using NIC's facial authentication via the AadhaarBAS/AadhaarFaceRD mobile application on personal smartphones. The salaries will be linked with the biometric system from June 1', commissioner said. It is worth mentioning that amid the financial crisis, MC is making efforts to rationalise its manpower after concerns were raised over a sharp increase in MC's annual expenses related to outsourced manpower, and civic body's inability to pay salaries of its staff amid the cash crunch. MC is also starting a comprehensive manpower audit to determine if the staff strength can be optimised, identify the ghost employees as complained about by several city councillors, and conduct a financial check of salaries to detect any irregularities. .
