Arrangements reviewed for Bonalu
Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has directed officials to make necessary arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of Bonalu.
The Minister, accompanied by Hyderabad in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, reviewed the arrangements being made for the ensuing Bonalu festival with senior officials of civic and police departments on Tuesday.
Bonalu, starting from the first Thursday of Aashada Masam of Telugu calendar, will be held in 28 temples in the GHMC and adjoining Ranga Reddy districts.
Ms. Surekha directed the officials to ensure that there were no shortcomings in the arrangements. Government had already sanctioned ₹20 crore for the smooth conduct of the festival and steps should be taken to see that there was no scope for complaints from any quarters, she said.
Police Commissioner C.V. Anand said that DJs will not get permission to use high-decibel music systems.
