Serayah and Joey Bada$$ celebrated their first child together with a blue, bear-themed baby shower. In a carousel upload to Instagram, the expecting couple was joined by family and friends for the intimate, heart-warming affair. Sharing the clips and pictures, Serayah penned a loving caption dedicated to her unborn child. 'It's so hard me to even describe the gratitude I feel, or where to even start… It's as if my heart bursts a million times over when I think about my son,' expressed the 29-year-old. 'My first born, my purpose, my light, no words can effectively express the love that surrounds you. We are so thankful to our friends and family for showing up and showing out for us during this time. The couple revealed their pregnancy earlier this year in a stylish manner. Taking the runway during New York Fashion Week, the Empire actress sashayed for the lingerie brand AdoreMe, revealing her growing baby bump for the first time. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that they are expecting a baby boy. The infant will be the Brooklyn rapper's second child, as he has a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. 'I can't say that she's excited,' shared the Raising Kanan star with ESSENCE. 'I think she's processing, you know what I mean? I think she's like, 'I got to share my daddy now?' But I already know she's going to come around and she's going to be a great big sister once he gets here. She's going to be super hands-on.' 'It's been a fully spiritual transformation for me. There's been so many things revealed to me and there's a sense of clarity and a natural instinct to just want to do all things,' added the mommy-to-be. 'I feel like I'm a purpose driven person in general, but it's more of an emphasis now on what moves makes sense and how that affects the unit as a whole. And I think that that's something that has definitely transformed me, especially as I'm turning 30 soon. Living my whole 20s just for me, this has been a full transformation now getting ready to parent and be one of the sole people responsible for another human being. Skilla Baby Injured In Alleged Targeted Drive-By Shooting
Skilla Baby sustained injuries after a drive-by shooting caused him to crash his vehicle into a building. According to TMZ, investigators believe the rapper is the victim of a 'targeted attempt on his life.' The 26-year-old, whose real name is Trevon Gardner, was driving through his hometown of Detroit when the shooting occurred. The tabloid reported the 'Icky Vicky Vibes' performer was alone while cruising through 8 Mile and Beech Daly on Thursday evening (May 22). Lead investigator Edward French informed the tabloid that the unknown suspect pulled up next to Skilla Baby's vehicle and fired roughly 25 rounds. The bullets caused the rapper to swerve and crash into a building, which had to be boarded up due to the damage. The shooter fled the scene; however, a witness transported the musician to the hospital and called law enforcement. Skilla Baby was reportedly shot in the hand, grazed twice in the head and back, and suffered a thigh injury. According to TMZ, French claimed the God's Favorite rapper was doing well and shared a message of gratitude for the support from his fans. In a video shared to Instagram by Metro, a black Tahoe truck is shown lodged into a building. Police are also seen on the scene, marking bullet casings on the ground. The rapper's most recent full project is Crack Music 3, which was issued in November 2024. 'Detroit is gritty but small. Everyone either wants to rap, hoop, or play sports,' detailed Skilla Baby of the Motor City last year with AllHipHop. 'I slept on Eminem for a while, but man, he's one of the greatest. Joey Bada$$ and Ab-Soul have found themselves in the middle of a lyrical crossfire, trading bars that have reignited coastal tensions—this time under the guise of healthy competition. The spark came Monday (May 12), during the season three premiere of Red Bull 1250's Spiral Freestyle series, which featured a rap session with Joey, Ab-Soul, and Big Sean. The genesis of the rhyme war between Joey Bada$$ and Ray Vaughn stems from Joey's 2025 single 'The Ruler's Back,' in which he lamented the perceived fawning over West Coast Hip-Hop in light of Kendrick Lamar's victory over Drake. This jab caused Vaughn to clap back with his own record, 'Crashout Heritage,' in which he responded to Joey and other figures, whereas Daylyt took his own approach with the track 'Hiyu.' While both artists insist this is all in the name of Hip-Hop, their spirited exchange has become the latest chapter in rap's storied history of competitive bravado—reminding fans that when it comes to bars, coastlines don't matter as much as the fire behind the mic. Jay Rock Arrested for Firearms Possession in Los Angeles
Jay Rock was arrested in Los Angeles yesterday, March 14, after police allegedly found a gun in his car. The longtime TDE rapper — whose real name is Johnny Reed McKinzie — was arrested early Thursday evening in Nickerson Gardens, a public housing complex in Watts. Per NBC 4, the LAPD said they originally stopped McKinzie for trespassing and drinking in public. A rep for McKinzie did not immediately return a request for comment.
