Aspiring teen presenter, 19, reveals her creepy experience with big radio star

A regional Victorian presenter has recalled a creepy experience she recently had with a famous radio star. Edge FM presenter Abbey Fidge, 19, shared a clip to TikTok in which she revealed she had a 'disappointing' encounter with a renowned Australian DJ. 'I'm going to tell you about the time someone I really looked up to in the radio industry really let me down and disappointed me,' she began. 'I messaged this guy, he is an announcer on one of my favourite stations in the city. I asked him if I could tour his radio station.' She said their planned meet up took an unexpected turn after the presenter started behaving in an unprofessional manner towards her. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I messaged him asking if we were still good for the tour and he said he had left the studio. This is where it gets weird,' Abbey added. 'He says, "What are you doing tonight?" I said I was hanging out with my friend and he goes, "Cool... do you want to go to a wine bar?"' She added she was confused as to why he would ask her out socially when it is well-known she is in a relationship. 'He would know I have a boyfriend, it's on my Instagram,' she said. Abbey said she tried to politely decline the presenter's offer and this is where things took a weird turn. 'I said I don't drink wine because I didn't want to come off as rude. He then asked what I was doing tomorrow night... What the heck?' she said. 'I said I was leaving and he left me on opened! I was just like, "What?" This is someone I really looked up to! 'So disappointed when I couldn't tour the station and he thought maybe I would want to go on a date. It was weird... The people you look up to aren't always who you think they are.' Abbey did not reveal the identity of the presenter in question. Many of Abbey's followers took to the comment section to offer her words of support. 'So disappointing for you as a young woman trying to broaden your network, for a man to not take you seriously and ask for a date instead,' one person wrote. 'That is disappointing. His response is really gross,' a second user added. 'I'm so disgusted for you! Sorry you had to go through that,' a third chipped in. Abbey presents the weekdays drive time show on regional Victorian station Edge FM, from 2pm - 6pm.
