Two Kerry greyhounds, De Lahdedah and Cheap Sandwiches, through to English Derby semi-finals
Just about everybody at Tralee 's greyhound stadium on Saturday night was glued to the televised coverage of the English Derby quarter-finals at Towcester, at which Abbeydorney's Dan Brassil was interviewed after the greyhound he formerly trained, and which he now partly owns, Cheap Sandwiches, won his quarter-final.

Kerry under-15 Féile hurling titles for Abbeydorney, Ballyduff and St. Brendan's
In the Lee Strand Kerry Coiste na nÓg Féile na nGael U-15 Division 1 Hurling final Abbeydorney had a 4-8 to 1-3 win over Ballyheigue, while in the Division 2 decider, Ballyduff had a 1-13 to 2-8 win over Tralee Parnells. North Kerry Hurling Kilmoyley won the North Kerry Under 15 B hurling title following their 4-20 to 3-5 win over St. Brendan's in the final. The Edmund Flahive Memorial Shield was presented to the winning captain Seanie Feehan by Tom Lawlor, Oifigeach Cultúrtha, North Kerry Hurling Board. The Player of the Match was the Kilmoyley centre fielder Jack Corridon.
