Dry, sunny weather for first week of June in Seattle

SEATTLE - After waking up to patches of clouds this morning, bright beautiful sunshine is forecast for the rest of the day today. Highs will reach the upper 60s for many backyards. Temperatures will hover around the average which sits at 69 degrees today at Sea-Tac Airport. Later tonight, there's a small chance after dark and before 11 p.m. of seeing the aurora borealis. The colors would likely be rather faint. Whether we see the aurora depends on the timing of the conditions. As you'd imagine, space weather forecasting is challenging. It wouldn't be nearly as impressive as the northern lights we experienced in May of last year. For the entire first week of June, we're predicting dry, sunny and mild weather in Seattle. Enjoy the lovely forecast! Sweltering weather in store for Seattle this week

SEATTLE - Today's forecast will feature beautifully mild and pleasant weather. While we track cooler and slightly damp conditions on Memorial Day, a big warmup will follow on Wednesday. Highs this afternoon will reach the upper 60s to the low 70s. High-level clouds this afternoon will give way to the filtered sunshine effect. There could be showers developing along the coast by late tonight. We can't even rule out some isolated thunderstorms overnight along and east of the spine of the Cascade mountains. Monday morning will be rather cloudy and a bit drippy. Rain will be most persistent overnight along the coast and Olympic Peninsula with fewer showers along the I-5 corridor. There's a tiny chance of lightning tomorrow, but most backyards will experience plain old rain. Sunshine will reappear Monday afternoon as showers retreat to the Cascades during the second half of Memorial Day. Tuesday will be lovely with partly sunny skies and highs rebounding to the mid 70s. On Wednesday, all the meteorological ingredients are coming together to give way to an impressive warmup, including a ridge of high pressure, easterly winds and what's called a "thermal trough" (a corridor of dry and unstable air). Highs will skyrocket to at least 86 degrees in Seattle with some backyards flirting with the 90-degree mark. This would be the hottest day so far in 2025. For those without air conditioning, this type of heat could be very uncomfortable. Head into a building with A/C to give your system a break and stay hydrated. Light showers are a possibility on Thursday with warmer weather developing on Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned this week for more details on the blistering heat on Wednesday!Take good care, Meteorologist Abby Acone Luxury Seattle hotel sues 'nuisance' building next door Firefighters in western WA train for possibility of 'above average' wildfire season Shawn Kemp lawyers claim bias in Tacoma Mall shooting case as trial nears Federal judge blocks Trump's dismantling of the Department of Education 'Where is Teekah?': Mother speaks out after Tacoma, WA cold case Activist marks 2 weeks in tree to protest logging near Port Angeles Driver arrested after deadly crash in Kent, WA To get the best local news, weather and sports in Seattle for free, sign up for the daily FOX Seattle Newsletter. Intermittent damp weather for Seattle through Tuesday

SEATTLE - Damp weather will continue at times in the Seattle area through Tuesday before drier weather potentially returns Wednesday. Today will be far less wet compared to what many experienced on Saturday. Drier skies are likely between 6 p.m. Sunday night and roughly 2 a.m. Monday. Enjoy our partly sunny to mostly cloudy weather today. Be prepared for a possibly messy commute Monday morning. A band of widespread, drenching rain could sweep through Puget Sound by about 7 a.m. This could drop visibility in a big way and create slippery conditions. Drier weather takes over Wednesday and Thursday. Light, isolated showers could develop Friday and Saturday. Take good care! Thanks so much for choosing FOX 13. Seattle weather: When will drier skies return?

SEATTLE - If you're dreaming of summery weather in Seattle, we're not expecting that any time soon. We're gearing up for a damp and gray Saturday with a small chance for thunderstorms as well. In some areas today (especially King County and northward), we could see pockets of torrential rain. In isolated cases (particularly over the Cascades), there may be weak thunderstorms and small hail. Otherwise, this week will feature below-normal temperatures and occasional showers. A light shower is a possibility on Wednesday, but that day may be primarily dry. Right now, Thursday is the only day that is looking entirely dry this week (that could change!). A spotty shower could develop next Friday. Thanks so much for choosing FOX 13!Warmly, Meteorologist Abby Acone Viral TikTok warns women of convicted rapist released in Seattle Over 100 Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs stores to close, including 8 in WA Seattle Seahawks 2025 schedule released, here are all 17 matchups Marymoor Park announces 2025 summer concert series lineup in Redmond, WA Viral TikTok captures truck break-in after Seattle Mariners game, despite police presence Bryan Kohberger back in court for pretrial hearing in Idaho students murder case 'Scared of accountability': Crowd calls out West Seattle leaders at public safety meeting FBI nabs Thurston County, WA fugitive hundreds of miles from crime scene To get the best local news, weather and sports in Seattle for free, sign up for the daily FOX Seattle Newsletter.
