President Sisi Lays Wreath at Unknown Soldier Memorial in Cairo
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi laid a wreath of flowers this morning- April 24, 2025- at the memorial for the martyrs of the Armed Forces in Nasr City- Press photo CAIRO – 24 April 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi laid a wreath of flowers this morning- April 24, 2025- at the memorial for the martyrs of the Armed Forces in Nasr City, as part of Egypt's and the Armed Forces' celebrations of the 43rd anniversary of the Liberation of Sinai. The President was received by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr, and senior state officials. President El-Sisi also visited the tomb of the late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, where he laid a wreath of flowers and recited Al-Fatiha in remembrance of his pure soul. Sinai Liberation Day is a public holiday in Egypt, which celebrates the liberation of Sinai from Israeli occupation. It is the anniversary of the liberation of the peninsula of Sinai corresponding to April 25 of each year, celebrating the day in 1982 when Egypt recovered the land of Sinai and the withdrawal of the last Israeli soldier from the city of Taba in 1988. On this day, Egyptians give tribute to the officers and soldiers from the Egyptian armed forces and their sacrifices which led to the recovery of Sinai from occupation.

OPEN//Egyptian defense min. meets his French counterpart
CAIRO, April 7 (MENA) - Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr met Tuesday with his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt among delegation accompanying French President Emmanuel Macron on his visit. The meeting took up a number of topics of common interest and ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries, along with the most important current developments on the regional and international arenas. The Egyptian defense minister voiced appreciation over continued military cooperation between Egypt and France, highlighting importance of concerted international efforts to calm situation, preserve lives of civilians and secure the flow of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. For his part, the French minister voiced pride over Egyptian-French relations of partnership and fruitful cooperation, especially in the military field, referring to the two sides continued agreement vis-à-vis the various issues that contribute to supporting the pillars of security and stability in the region. The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with a number of commanders of the armed forces of both countries. (MENA) S A S/M O H

Egyptian Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr emphasized on Tuesday the importance of international collaboration to de-escalate tensions, safeguard civilian lives, and secure the flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza. According to a statement by the military spokesman, Saqr made these remarks during his meeting with French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu and his accompanying delegation. The delegation and French President Emmanuel Macron are currently in a high-level, three-day visit to Egypt. During their meeting, Saqr expressed his appreciation for the long-standing military cooperation between Egypt and France. The statement said both sides discussed several issues of mutual interest, including ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two nations and the latest developments on the regional and international fronts. For his part, Minister Lecornu expressed pride in Egypt's enduring partnership and fruitful cooperation with France, particularly in the military sector. Egypt's defense minister instructs air defense to maintain highest levels of preparedness against threats
Minister of Defense General Abdel Mageed Saqr delivers a speech as he shares iftar with Air Defense fighters - Egyptian Armed Forces' spox CAIRO – 23 March 2025: Minister of Defense General Abdel Mageed Saqr has instructed the Air Defense personnel to continue rigorous training to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and combat readiness. Saqr discussed the developments across the region and their reflection on Egyptian national security, while sharing iftar with various fighters from the Air Defense Forces, Armed Forces' Spokesman Gharib Abdel Hafez said in a statement released on Saturday. The minister ordered enhancing the technical capabilities of weapons and other military equipment and improving their performance. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the Air Defense Forces remain in the highest state of readiness to defend Egypt's skies against all threats. Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Ahmed Khalifa, several commanders and leaders of main branches of the Armed Forces joined the visit. Saqr conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Air Defense Forces in protecting Egypt's skies around the clock and executing all tasks assigned to them under various circumstances. He emphasized the General Command of the Armed Forces' commitment to providing continuous support to the Air Defense Forces and equipping them with the latest combat systems to enable them to effectively carry out their assigned missions.

CAIRO, March 14 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Armed Forces in protecting the nation and safeguarding its sanctities. This came during Sisi's meeting with commanders of the Armed Forces, in the presence of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Mageed Saqr and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa. Sisi greeted the Armed Forces on the anniversary of the 10th of Ramadan Victory, which coincides with Egypt and the Armed Forces' celebration of Martyr's Day and Veterans' Day. He paid tribute to the martyrs who paved the way to the national progress across all fields. The meeting also tackled several significant international and regional files and reviewed the Armed Forces' efforts in supporting Egypt's national security on all strategic fronts. Sisi performed Friday prayers at Mosheer Tantawy Mosque. The prayer was attended by Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with several ministers, governors, commanders of the main military branches, as well as officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the Armed Forces.
