MP Nassia calls for inclusive dialogue after meeting UN deputy head
Following a meeting with Stephanie Koury, Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Deputy Abdel Salam Nassia outlined a new initiative aimed at resolving Libya's ongoing political and security crisis.
Nassia said the proposal focuses on unifying Libya's executive authority and implementing meaningful security arrangements within the capital. The initiative also calls for a serious, inclusive dialogue between Libyan factions to address contentious issues and pave the way for presidential and parliamentary elections.
'I urged Koury to present this initiative to all Libyan parties to enrich it before moving towards implementation,' Nassia said.
However, he expressed disappointment with recent decisions that, while framed as security measures to stabilise the country, he believes merely manage the crisis rather than resolve it. 'These measures continue to fuel instability at the expense of the Libyan people and stray far from a genuine state-building agenda,' he added. News Tagged: libyan crisis MP Abdel Salam Nassia
