Sharjah Excellence Leadership Committee selects nominees
40 evaluators His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and Chairman of the Supreme Committee, confirmed that the programme is proceeding according to its schedule. It was first introduced through field visits during February and March, followed by acceptance of nominee files in April. Currently, the evaluation phase is underway with 40 evaluators, after which the judging committee will approve the winners. A range of awards His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan pointed out that the programme includes a range of awards. In addition to the Sports Excellence Award, there is the Sustainability Award, the Clubs Cultural Race, the Rationalisation Award, the Sharjah Award for Public Welfare and Happiness, and the Sharjah Award for Scientific Research. As for the Excellence Award, there are 12 categories to reward excellence in all areas of sports. In the first edition this year, the programme began with the Best Club, Best Manager, and Best Employee categories. The remaining award categories will be added in the coming years, rewarding Player, Coach, Referee, Doctor, and Supporting Partner. The award also includes the Electronic Service, Innovative Idea, Sports Research, and Entertainment Programme. Recently, the Unknown Soldier category was added in recognition of those working behind the scenes. Motivating Sharjah clubs It is noteworthy that Sharjah Sports Excellence Leadership Programme was launched by SSC to motivate the emirate's clubs. The committee supervising the programme is headed by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan; His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Mohammed bin Maleeh, Vice President; Dr. Nabil Mohammed bin Ashour, Secretary General; Mohammed Ali bin Hammad; Abdullah Hussein Al Ali, Hamad Salem Al Bimani; Khaled Abdullah Al Junaibi and Maryam Al Nuaimi as members. The committee held several meetings during the past period in which it followed up on the implementation stages through periodic reports.

Sharjah Sports Excellence Award launches inaugural edition
Dr Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan, member of the Sharjah Sports Council board and head of the working group, chaired the meeting. Dr Nabil Mohammed bin Ashour, vice-chairman, and members Abdullah Hussein Al Ali, Hamad Salem Al Bimani, and Maryam Saeed Al Nuaimi (rapporteur) were present. Twenty-five administrators and employees representing the emirate's sports and specialised clubs and football companies also attended. The Sharjah Excellence Award's main category rewards the best club among sports and specialised clubs. The second category is for the best executive director, while the third category recognises outstanding employees in support services, corporate communication, strategy and performance, and community culture departments.
