Sharjah Islamic Affairs opens 2 mosques in Al Dhaid & Khorfakkan
The two mosques come as part of the department's ongoing efforts to build and develop mosques in all suburbs and cities of the emirate, in line with the visions and aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and to enable citizens and residents to perform rituals and worship with peace and ease. "Al Sahabi Al Tufayl bin Malik" mosque is built in Suhaila 3 area in Al Dhaid city, on a total land area of 2163 square metres, which includes the prayer hall and service facilities, and the mosque can accommodate 600 worshipers, including a women's prayer hall accommodating 50 worshipers. In Khorfakkan, the department opened the "Umm Habib bint Al Awam" mosque in Al Harai residential area, built on a total area of 1930 square metres, including a prayer hall and its service facilities. The mosque can accommodate 400 worshipers, 50 of which are for women. The two mosques are distinguished by their diverse architectural styles that blend different Islamic and modern styles, and were built at the expense of benefactors. His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sabousi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, praised the efforts of benefactors in the emirate and what they provide in order to build and care for mosques, calling on God Almighty to reward them for what they have provided, stressing the department's continued efforts to open 20 mosques in different suburbs and cities of Sharjah with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

SDIA inaugurates 'Mirath Al Anbiya' Mosque in Al Suyoh
Welcoming the holy month The mosque inauguration comes as part of SDIA preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, as the department seeks to open 20 mosques with the advent of the holy month, distributed across the suburbs and cities of Sharjah. Urban renaissance The SDIA also aims to keep pace with the urban development and population increase in the Emirate, meet the needs of its residents and enable them to perform prayers with ease and comfort. This step comes within SDIA noble mission and its continuous efforts to translate the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in harnessing all capabilities to provide a decent life for the residents of the Emirate, and constructing all facilities and services that would enhance stability and achieve comprehensive urban renaissance in the suburbs and cities of the Emirate. His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sabousi, Chairman of SDIA, attended the inauguration accompanied by the donor to build the mosque, a number of officials, and the residents of the suburb, where the attendees performed the noon prayer, then listened to a sermon on the importance of building mosques, and their role in promoting Islamic values and preserving society. Modern architecture The attendees toured the mosque and listened to an explanation from the project implementers about its facilities, which were built according to a modern architectural style mixed with an Islamic character, with a main dome in the middle, and a 25-metre-high minaret on top. The construction of the mosque took into account the use of the best modern standards that contribute to preserving the environment, as it operates with modern systems to conserve energy and water consumption. The mosque was built on an area of 3062 square metres, which includes the prayer hall and its service facilities. The mosque's capacity is 400 worshipers, 70 of which are designated for the women's prayer hall.
