The United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China reaffirmed their deepening economic partnership during the high-level 'Invest in China: Guangxi' session, held as part of the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi. Organised in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and the Government of Guangxi, the session brought together senior officials, business leaders, and global investors to explore new opportunities in trade, investment, and the evolving new economy. UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, praised the UAE-China relationship as a model of strategic cooperation grounded in innovation and diversity. He reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to bolstering economic ties, highlighting the Belt and Road Initiative as a key driver of global connectivity and shared growth. He also pointed to Guangxi's geographic advantage as a vital link to Southeast Asia and a promising platform for SME collaboration, noting the presence of over 15,500 Chinese companies across UAE free zones. Lan Tianli, Governor of Guangxi, lauded the UAE's leadership in fostering international economic collaboration and stressed Guangxi's intent to strengthen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and investment. The session also included remarks from key figures such as Khaled Al Fahim of Abu Dhabi Chamber, UAE Ambassador to China Hussain Al Hammadi, and ACWA Power's Raad Al-Saady—each underscoring the growing synergy between both nations. Highlighting Guangxi's expanding global role, the World Free Zones Organization officially welcomed the Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone into its network, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding focused on trade, research, and innovation.
