Registration is now open for the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced the opening of registration for the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (ADWPJJC), which will take place this November at Mubadala Arena in the UAE capital. The championship is a highly esteemed event on the global jiu-jitsu calendar, drawing the most talented male and female athletes from around the globe. Reaffirming Abu Dhabi's status as a global centre for the sport, it offers an optimal platform for competitors of all ages to exhibit their abilities in a highly competitive environment. His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, declared, 'We anticipate that this edition will draw over 10,000 athletes from around the world, a record figure that is indicative of the championship's international prominence and leadership.' The continuous support of our wise leadership has enabled Abu Dhabi to further establish itself as a preeminent global sports destination. The event will begin with the Abu Dhabi World Amateurs, which will feature white and blue belt athletes. The Para-Jiu-Jitsu tournaments for all belt divisions will also be held as part of the opening phase. This will be followed by the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival, which will be solely for kids, and juniors, with participation limited to white belt competitors. The excitement continues with the Abu Dhabi World Youth Championship, which will feature athletes with grey, yellow, orange, green, blue, and purple belt. The first day will also serve as the championship's ceremonial opening ceremony. The Abu Dhabi World Masters will follow and bring together elite Masters participants in the purple, brown, and black belt divisions. The competition will end with the Abu Dhabi World Professional, will feature final matches in the purple, brown, and black belt categories to decide the world's top champions. 18 Apr 2025 20:22 ABU DHABI (WAM) The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) Board of Directors held its regular meeting on Wednesday at the Federation's headquarters in Abu Dhabi to evaluate the current season's achievements and review preparations for the 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu by Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAEJJF, President of the Ju-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the meeting addressed upcoming continental and international competitions for the National expressed gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for their continued support of the sport.
