Hamas: Mediators continue their efforts to implement remaining phases of Gaza Ceasefire deal
File- Preparation for handing over the sixth batch of three Israeli captives as per the prisoner swap deal between Hamas and Israel on February 15, 2025- photo from Palestinian journalists' Telegram accounts CAIRO – 6 March 2025: The Palestinian Resistance movement of Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that the mediators continue their efforts to ensure the implementation of the remaining phases of the ceasefire agreement, and to compel the Zionist occupation to begin negotiations for the second phase of the agreement. The Hamas Movement reaffirmed its commitment to all phases of the ceasefire agreement, and hopes that the mediators' efforts will lead to the implementation of all the agreement's phases by the Zionist occupation. However, Abu Ubeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of Hamas, issued another statement warning that the resistance is ready for possibilities and Israeli threats to resume fighting. 'We are in a state of readiness and prepared for all possibilities, and the enemy's threats to resume fighting will only push us to further shatter what remains of its prestige,' said Abu Ubeida in a televised statement. Abu Ubeida's comments were stated after US President Donald Trump encourges Israel to aviod the ceasefire agreement if the rest of the Israeli captives were not released. On his Truth account, Trump said: "I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don't do as I say.' He added: "Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.' In remarks to the Turkish state-run news agency Anadolu Agency, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated that these threats encourage Israel to avoid implementing the terms of the Gaza ceasefire, which took effect on 19 January.
