Sunday forecast: Clouds build, possibility of pop-up storms
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After a beautiful Saturday around Acadiana, dry conditions continue into the nighttime hours with just a few clouds in the sky. Temperatures will gradually fall into the upper 60s overnight and it should feel a bit better to start Sunday morning. Sunday will see plentiful sunshine to start the day. Clouds build by lunchtime and we will watch for a few pop-up storms to develop around the area in the afternoon. A storm system will slide just to the west of the area potentially with severe weather. We should not see any impacts from this, however, we will keep a close watch in case it does move a bit further east. Highs Sunday reach the upper 80s. Next week we see a pretty typical June summertime weather pattern. Each day will have the opportunity for a few cooling storms to develop during the afternoon hours. Otherwise, temperatures will reach the lower 90s with high humidity. Sunday also begins hurricane season for the Atlantic Basin. For now, there are no threats to be concerned with through the next 7 days. Download the KLFY Weather App by clicking here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Iberia Parish family asks for help following house fire
IBERIA PARISH, LA () — A GoFundMe was created for an Iberia Parish family who lost everything in a house fire Memorial Day morning. Tiffany Hyde and her three kids lived at the mobile home near Coteau for seven years. Hyde said she had just gotten back home that weekend after being away for a while. She said she went to bed that Sunday night around 10 p.m., when she was woken up around 2 a.m. Memorial Day morning from a loud noise. That is when she saw her son's scooter on fire outside. 'It was kind of hard to put it out,' she said. 'They had gas in my car. Once that caught on fire, it was a matter of seconds before it was on back to the house. I was getting the kids out the back door and it blew all the windows out.' According to Hyde, what hurts the most is not what has happened to her but what the fire has done to her kids. I should have never, I shouldn't ask you to charge my bike.' You know, my heart is breaking more for him.' For seven years Hyde and her family called that place home. Now, they have nothing.
