Acapulcos Mexican Family Restaurant & Cantina in Beverly closes
A family-run Tex-Mex restaurant chain in Massachusetts has closed its second location within the past three months.
Acapulcos Mexican Family Restaurant & Cantina closed its Beverly restaurant on Sunday, April 20 after 23 years, according to a Facebook post from the location.
'From the start, you welcomed us like family. We've shared birthdays, anniversaries, and countless everyday moments with you — and every one has meant the world to us," the post reads. 'Though we're saying goodbye, the connection we've built will stay with us always. Gracias, from the bottom of our hearts.'
The post also mentioned that Acapulcos' management is 'doing our best to relocate in the future.'
A reason for the closure was not provided.
This is the second Acapulcos location to close since the start of the year. The Tex-Mex chain closed its Quincy location in January.
'While this marks the end of an era for us at this location, we are actively seeking a new home within Quincy in hopes of continuing to serve our beloved community,' the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post on Dec. 18.
'We will truly miss being at the heart of such a wonderful community,' the post continued. 'Thank you again for being such an important part of our journey. Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see you soon.'
Acapulcos is known for its authentic Mexican cuisine with offerings such as quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, fajitas and more.
The first Acapulcos was opened in Sudbury in 2001 by the Brambila family, according to the restaurant's website. That location closed in 2021, Patch reported.
The chain later added locations in Beverly, Franklin, Milford, Norwood and Quincy. Acapulcos also has locations in Enfield and Stratford, Connecticut.
The address for the now-closed Beverly Acapulcos is 900 Cummings Center.
