Cynthia Nixon On Changing Your Life in Middle Age: ‘What Are You Waiting For?'
This summer, Cynthia Nixon stars in two hit television shows as leading women confronting major life changes. Nixon navigates sexuality in midlife as Miranda Hobbes in 'And Just Like That.' Meanwhile, in the historical drama 'The Gilded Age,' Nixon returns as the newly widowed Ada Brook, who comes into an unexpected inheritance.
Nixon, 59, has lived through a few changes of her own, from becoming a director to watching her kids leave for college. But she says young women have a lot to look forward to in middle age. 'It's a time when you can return to yourself,' she says. 'In the same way adolescence [was] breaking away from your parents. This is a version of that, but hopefully with a little or a lot more wisdom.'
