Kyle Smith-Kingsley stood trial over more than a month for the shooting death of Jacob Wright in Dieppe in 2023. The jury also found 32-year-old Smith-Kingsley guilty of robbery and disguise with intent. Smith-Kingsley's case is scheduled to return to court July 7. Second-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 10 years. His parole eligibility will be determined by a judge at sentencing. He was one of three people charged in the death of the 26-year-old. Adam Robichaud and Brandon LeBlanc have yet to stand trial. RCMP previously said officers responded to a Louis Street home in Dieppe around 10 p.m. on June 25, 2023, for a report that a man had been shot. Police said Wright was found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital, where he died.
