WWII history group to host free presentation about post-war German-US relations
The Audie Murphy Chapter of the WWII History Roundtable will host another free program at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum in Greenville.
The upcoming lecture will be about the aftermath of World War II in Germany, and will be presented by Texas A&M University history professor Adam Seipp.
The title to Seipp's lecture is 'GI's, Germans and the End of War 1944-1946,' and his area of expertise/research is war and social change in modern Germany, German-U.S. relations and the Holocaust.
His current research projects include one examining the U.S. military's role in concentration camp liberation and the aftermath of the Holocaust, and another dealing with the social history of the U.S. military presence in West Germany.
The Audie Murphy Chapter was launched in the summer of 2023 by a group of World War II historians and enthusiasts as a way to enjoy their shared interests.
Seipp's presentation is scheduled for April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum.
