Salim Adofo announces run for Ward 8 council seat
WASHINGTON () — All eyes are on Washington, D.C.'s council as the Ward 8 seat is up for grabs and one candidate announced that he is throwing in his bid, again.
Candidate Saturday that he is running in the council's special election.
This comes after former Councilmember Trayon White after he was accused of breaking city code and council rules.

In a , Adofo said Ward 8 deserves a 'steady leadership that listens, leads and delivers.'
While working as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, the U.S. Army veteran said he helped address gun violence and public safety, youth empowerment and the fight for better housing.
'I've dedicated myself to fighting for real change—whether through advocacy, organizing, or bringing people together to solve problems. Now, I'm ready to continue that work on the D.C. Council to ensure Ward 8 gets the leadership it deserves,' Adofo stated in the post.
On March 1, Adofo will officially kick off his campaign at the We Act Radio Station in Southeast. The event will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 1920 Martin Luther King Jr Ave.
Early voting will start on July 11 and go until July 14. The special election will be held on July 15.
