Bears listed as potential trade candidate for Tyreek Hill
The Chicago Bears are loaded at the wide receiver position with veterans D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze, along with rookie Luther Burden III. But that hasn't stopped some speculation about a potential trade for one of the best wideouts in the league. There's been plenty of discussion about the Miami Dolphins trading away receiver Tyreek Hill -- with Dolphins GM Chris Grier not ruling it out back in April. With the June 1 deadline gone, it would make it a lot easier for Miami to get it done as far as spreading out the salary cap over the next two years. Advertisement Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio discussed some potential suitors for Hill, including the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers. Florio even mentioned the Bears as a potential suitor for Hill -- with the caveat of sending a veteran receiver back to Miami in the process. The Bears also would be an intriguing option, especially with former Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on the coaching staff. But they're currently loaded at receiver; it wouldn't work unless they'd send D.J. Moore to Miami as part of the trade. It's a long shot, for the Bears or any other team. But all it takes is one team to convince itself that Hill can be the difference maker. The guy who can help a team that is close to the mountaintop finish the climb. As Florio mentioned, Hill has ties to new Bears running backs coach Eric Bieniemy, who served as offensive coordinator during Hill's time with the Kansas City Chiefs. And the idea of Hill in head coach Ben Johnson's offense is certainly a tantalizing one. While the Bears should always be looking to improve the roster, Hill doesn't feel like the best fit in Chicago. Hill, 31, is coming off one of his worst statistical seasons where he failed to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards (which he had done for four straight seasons). Plus, the Bears aren't in win-now mode heading into Year 1 of the Ben Johnson era. Where will Shedeur Sanders end up in the draft?
We're two weeks away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Tennessee Titans have told everyone they're selecting Miami's Cam Ward without saying it publicly. Colorado's Travis Hunter to the Cleveland Browns at the number two seems likely, which means the New York Giants are a wild card at number three. The Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency but are likely still in the rookie quarterback market. Shedeur Sanders is QB2 in this year's class and could fall into New York's lap, but ESPN's Louis Riddick doesn't think Sanders wants to play for the Giants or any team in the top three. Advertisement Pro Football Talk broke down Riddick's recent appearance on 'First Take' where he said, 'I hope he doesn't go in the top three picks. I hope he doesn't. And I think his camp would tell you the same thing. There are other teams they want to go to.' Mary Kay Cabot followed up with Riddick, who said, 'In some respects, there are other teams that I hope he goes to, that I think would be good fits for him. I do feel that way. I do feel like him going to a place like New Orleans or going to a place like Pittsburgh or Las Vegas, I think they would be very good fits for him.' Riddick's relationship with Deion Sanders is well known, so this could be a way for the Sanders camp to make their feelings known without going public. Not long ago, Shedeur was expected to be picked in the top three. Now, Penn State's Abdul Carter is the betting favorite to go to the Giants. New York could still select Sanders and let things play out, but let's look at possible landing spots if he doesn't hear his name called at the third pick. Sanders to New Orleans has been picking up steam, and Riddick's comments will add fuel to the fire. The Saints are committed to Derek Carr through 2026, but that doesn't mean they won't build for the future. Kellen Moore has proven he can run an effective offense, and playing in a dome could mitigate Sanders's arm strength concerns. The fit makes sense, but would anyone hop the Saints to select Sanders? The Steelers have had their own quarterback drama this offseason with Aaron Rodgers. It still seems likely that Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, but why would that stop them from drafting Sanders? This team has been desperate for a long-term quarterback since Ben Roethlisberger retired, but they are always picking too late to select a quality rookie. Jaxson Dart has been a popular name for Pittsburgh in many mock drafts, but if Sanders falls to No. 21, the Steelers should pull the trigger. Las Vegas Raiders There are a couple of teams outside the top three but ahead of New Orleans that could surprisingly take Sanders. Las Vegas is one of them. They traded for and extended Geno Smith and have been heavily linked to Ashton Jeanty, however, Smith's dead money number falls dramatically after 2025. Sanders would fall into Las Vegas's lap if the Giants pass, and who better to mold a young quarterback for a year or two than Tom Brady? The other New York team owns the seventh pick and could be in the same situation as Las Vegas if the Raiders pass on Sanders. The Jets signed Justin Fields to a two-year contract this offseason, but is anyone confident they'll re-sign him after 2026? The Jets could wait until next year's loaded quarterback class to find their guy, but Gang Green would be a good situation, as Sanders likely wouldn't have to start immediately. New York Giants (Trading back from No. 3 or back into Round 1) Sanders might not go in the top three, but he could still end up with the Giants. The team has some wiggle room after signing two veteran quarterbacks this offseason, so it truly is unknown what they'll do with the third pick. Sticking at three and selecting Carter or Sanders makes sense, but the Giants could trade with any team before New Orleans, get more draft capital, and still take the quarterback. Advertisement New York could also package multiple picks to trade back into the first round. They'd likely have to move ahead of Pittsburgh at No. 21 to have a shot at Sanders. The Giants own the second pick of the second round and would have to add at least their first-round pick next year to have a shot of moving up that high. General Manager Joe Schoen might be desperate enough to make that deal, so don't rule out Sanders ending up as a Giant.
