BBA demands 10k stipend for junior advocates
Vijayawada:
Bezawada Bar Association
(BBA) president AK Basha urged state govt to immediately allocate funds for the
Nyaya Mithra scheme
and provide 10,000 financial assistance to junior advocates, as promised in the party's election manifesto.
Addressing media persons at his chamber in the BBA office on Thursday, BBA and Krishna District Bar Federation president AK Basha expressed gratitude on behalf of the advocates' fraternity to the secretary of the law department for amending the law Nestham scheme into the Nyaya Mithra scheme, for which orders were issued on Thursday. Basha said that although the State had promised during the elections to provide 10,000 as a stipend, which is 5,000 more that the previous stipend given under the Nestham scheme, recent govt mentioned only 5,000 as stipend.
He stated that this contradicted the election promise made to junior advocates.
In this regard, the BBA president demanded that govt immediately amend the govt order and extend 10,000 stipend, as promised in the manifesto. He also urged govt to promptly implement the
Advocates Protection Act
