Hamas praises African countries' stances rejecting brutal war on Gaza

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" praised Yesterday, Monday, the principled and courageous stances contained in the final statement of the African Summit condemning the brutal Zionist war on Gaza. The movement indicated, according to the Palestine Today Agency, that the final statement of the African Summit rejects the occupation's violations of international law and confirms that it is committing a crime of genocide against our Palestinian people, calling for its international trial and stopping all forms of cooperation and normalization with it until it ends its occupation and aggression. The movement considered these genuine stances of the African continent's countries a natural extension of its history of struggle against colonialism and injustice and its permanent bias towards the values of freedom, justice and the rights of peoples to self-determination. It stressed that this strong stance constitutes important support for the steadfastness of our Palestinian people and their resistance in the face of the crimes of the occupation, and it is also a clear message to the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping the Zionist aggression and holding its criminal leaders accountable. Hamas called on the sister African countries to translate these positions into practical measures by escalating political and legal pressure on the occupation, enhancing support for the Palestinian cause in international forums, and strengthening the steadfastness of our people until they achieve their freedom and establish their independent Palestinian state with Quds as its capital.

Hamas welcomes African Summit's stance on Gaza crisis

Hamas has expressed appreciation for the final statement of the African Summit, which condemned the ongoing war in Gaza, rejected violations of international law, and accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians. The summit's statement called for an international trial and an end to all forms of cooperation and normalization with Israel until the occupation and aggression cease. Hamas described the African nations' stance as a natural extension of their historical struggle against colonialism and injustice, emphasizing their consistent support for freedom, justice, and the right to self-determination. The group also stated that this position serves as an important boost to Palestinian resistance and urged the international community to take responsibility in stopping Israeli aggression and holding its leaders accountable. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported severe shortages of oxygen in hospitals due to the destruction of central supply stations. Among the affected facilities are Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Al-Rantisi Hospital, Al-Durra Hospital, Al-Nasr Complex, the Indonesian Hospital, and the Sheikh Radwan Clinic. These stations had been critical in supplying oxygen to intensive care units, emergency rooms, and neonatal departments, as well as for home patients. On Sunday, US President Donald Trump commented on the ongoing prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas, stating that Israel should decide how to handle the negotiations, though he emphasized that he should be consulted. He also noted that the recently released Israeli prisoners were in good condition. As part of the latest phase of the deal, Palestinian factions in Gaza handed over three Israeli prisoners—one with American citizenship and another with Russian citizenship—to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which then transferred them to Israel. In exchange, Israel released 369 Palestinian prisoners, including 333 from Gaza who were arrested after 7 October 2023, and 36 prisoners serving life sentences. Separately, Reuters quoted a European Union official stating that the EU intends to urge Israel to ensure a dignified return for displaced Palestinians from Gaza. The EU also plans to contribute to Gaza's reconstruction and reaffirm its opposition to actions that undermine the viability of a two-state solution.

Palestinians welcome African Summit decisions

Gaza - Saba: The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine praised the resolutions issued by the African Summit, which emphasized its full support for Palestinian rights and accused the Zionist enemy of committing genocide. According to the Palestine Today Agency, the PFLP welcomed these positions, which reflect the rising international awareness of the Zionist project danger, calling for translating these decisions in practice by imposing sanctions, strengthening the boycott, and continuing international pressure to prosecute the enemy leaders for their crimes. It affirmed that the African commitment to the principles of liberation and anti-colonialism remains firm, despite the attempts of some countries to drift towards normalization, which it described as "anomalous cases" that do not represent the position of the African continent that rejects the occupation. The Front stressed that the historical alliance between the African liberation forces and the Palestinian revolution reflects the unity of the struggle against colonialism, considering that isolating the Zionist entity has become an urgent necessity that cannot be postponed.
