Morocco has claimed the title of Best Tennis Nation in Africa, awarded by the African Tennis Confederation (CAT), for the seventh year in a row. This distinction was granted in recognition of the outstanding performances by young Moroccan tennis players in various African championships. It is based on results from the 2025 African Youth Championships in the under-14, under-16, and under-18 categories, as well as bonus points earned from the CAJ 14&U competitions during the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a letter sent Wednesday by CAT President Jean-Claude Talon to Faïçal Laraïchi, President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation. The trophy will be officially presented to Morocco during the closing ceremony of the African Youth Team Championship (under-14), which will take place in Cairo from May 5 to 10, 2025, the same source added.

Morocco Named Best African Country in Tennis for 7th Year in a Row
Rabat – The African Tennis Confederation has once again named Morocco the 'Best Nation's Trophy' for the year 2025. This is the seventh year in a row that Morocco has received the honor. 'For the 7th consecutive year, Morocco takes home the Best Nation's Trophy, thanks to their top performances across all age categories at the African Junior Championships,' said the Confederation of African Tennis in a statement. The recognition comes in the wake of the strong performances of young Moroccan tennis players in African tournaments. Moroccan players competed in different age categories and achieved great results this year. In a letter sent on Wednesday, the President of the African Tennis Confederation, Jean Claude Talon, informed the President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, Fayçal Laraichi, about the award. He said that Morocco earned this recognition based on its players' success in the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 African championships held in 2025. Morocco also collected important points during the Under-14 African championship that took place in the last quarter of 2024. The official award will be handed to Morocco during the closing ceremony of the African Team Championship for the Under-14 category. The event will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from May 5 to 10. Following behind Morocco is Tunisia in second place and Egypt in third.
