More than 140 tonnes of honey produced
SUHAR: Honey production in the wilayats of Al Batinah North Governorate in 2024 amounted to approximately 140.515 tonnes. This included 56.2 tonnes of Sidr honey and 84.3 tonnes of Samr honey, with a total value estimated at approximately RO 2.1 million.
Eng Said bin Mohammed al Adawi, Director of the Agricultural Development Department at the Directorate-General of Agriculture in Al Batinah North Governorate, said that the directorate continues its efforts to support beekeepers and promote the honey industry in the governorate by organising marketing exhibitions aimed at opening new outlets for honey farmers, encouraging them to improve their display and marketing operations.
The directorate also implements programmes and field visits for beekeepers to support them and improve production quality. — ONA
