Strengthening family ties The session addressed essential topics such as the importance of maintaining family ties and its role in supporting orphans psychologically and socially. It also included discussions on tolerance and harmony, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This is part of the Foundation's efforts to strengthen family ties and empower orphans socially. Ms. Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of SSEF, stated that "Ahl Al-Wud" social initiative comes within the framework of the foundation ongoing commitment to creating a supportive family environment for orphans. "Ahl Al-Wud" initiative, which is implemented within SSEF vision of instilling the values of compassion and communication, seeks, through the sessions, to build bridges of affection between orphans and their relatives, which contributes to building a more cohesive and united society." Al Suwaidi stressed that dialogue sessions contribute to achieving social adaptation for orphans and enhance their self-confidence by encouraging them to take the initiative and communicate with their extended family and to activate open discussions with their family members, which contributes to strengthening the bonds of love and communication. Towards a more cohesive society Al Suwaidi continued by saying that Ahl Al-Wud initiative is being implemented as part of the 'Year of Community' initiatives, to strengthen social ties and consolidate the values of love and communication among individuals. The programme aims to create an environment of intimacy and closeness, contributing to building a more cohesive society. Al Suwaidi concluded that the name 'Ahl Al-Wud' was chosen to reflect the meanings of intimacy, love, affection, and positive social communication between people united by kinship ties. It expresses belonging, closeness, purity, and mutual appreciation between individuals, to enhance good relationships and strengthen and repair social ties, whether in a social, humanitarian context or a cultural awareness-raising context stemming from our Islamic values. Dr. Fatima Ahmed Obaid Al Mughni commended the significant role played by the Emirate of Sharjah in caring for orphans and widows, noting that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has given this group special attention by establishing the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, which continues its efforts to provide support and empowerment to single-parent families. Al Mughni added that "Hayyakom Aqrabou" Heritage Foundation presented a dialogue session promoting the values of kinship and social communication. This event provided a valuable opportunity to highlight the importance of family ties and the role of society in strengthening family and social cohesion. Al Mughni noted that the session included competitions and interactive activities, in addition to a group suhoor. The discussion also continued on the traditions of communication among Emiratis in the past and the role of social institutions today in embracing and supporting various groups. Al Mughni emphasised that the initiative affirms the importance of community communication, especially during the 'Year of Community', noting that such activities contribute to spreading cultural, Islamic, and social awareness and strengthening the values of cohesion and brotherhood among members of society. Families that have lost their breadwinners need the support and assistance of society to ensure security and stability for their members and to promote a culture of giving and social solidarity, especially during this holy month." Al Mughni praised the importance of awareness-raising meetings in strengthening family bonds, stressing that the Foundation's board will remain open to such purposeful initiatives that leave a positive impact on society. Empowering SSEF members The Foundation recently held two dialogue sessions within "Ahl Al Wud" social initiative for female members of the Emirate of Sharjah, as part of the "Zakki" Ramadan campaign programmes. The discussions covered important topics related to the beautiful social impact resulting from strengthening the bonds between orphans, their mothers, and their father's family, and encouraging them to strengthen their relationships with their relatives after the loss of their father. This is in line with SSEF vision and efforts aimed at empowering its members socially, strengthening their family cohesion, and helping them build bridges of trust and respect among family members. During one of the sessions, a workshop was presented to create greeting cards for the holy month and distribute gifts to families, who then present them to their relatives from the father's family, as a gesture to rebuild family relationships and strengthen the concept of family cohesion in an interactive manner embodied in a social manner that touches feelings and has a real impact on their lives. "Ahl Al Wud" is one of the unique initiatives launched by the Foundation to achieve its goals of supporting and empowering orphans on a social level. This initiative aligns with the 'Year of Community' vision to enhance family cohesion and active participation in building a cohesive social fabric.
