Hassanzada, a lightweight fighter from Afghanistan, was set to make his debut in the Octagon on April 26. The showdown against Mitch Ramirez was due to take place in Kansas City at the UFC Fight Night event. Hassanzada rose to fame after prevailing in the lightweight category of Dana White's Contender Series. He last fought fellow lightweight Dylan Mantello on September 18 last year. Hassanzada won the contest in under three minutes via a submission. The victory saw him land a UFC contract. But, chiefs have confirmed that he is no longer under contract. "Ahmad Hassanzada was removed from his bout and is no longer signed to the organization," a representative told MMA Mania. Fighter set to make UFC debut arrested in Sacramento on child sex crimes
SACRAMENTO – A fighter who was set to make his UFC debut was arrested in Sacramento following an investigation into child sex crimes, authorities said on Sunday. The Sacramento Police Department confirmed Ahmad Hassanzada turned himself in following an investigation that began in early 2024. According to jail records, Hassanzada was booked for lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. Police said a warrant was issued for his arrest. The UFC website says the 28-year-old was set to make his octagon debut on Saturday, April 26. Hassanzada was a member of Team Alpha Male, which is located in Sacramento, according to his Instagram .
