Lorry crashes into stall, mosque fence in Sungai Buloh, man killed
KUALA LUMPUR: A man was killed, believed to have been hit by a lorry in an accident in front of the Bandar Baru Mosque in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, this afternoon. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, said the department received an emergency call about the incident at 1.36 pm and a team from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the location. He said the accident involved a Nissan UD that crashed into a hawker stall and the fence of a mosque after hitting a motorcycle. 'A 30-year-old man was found pinned under the lorry, and he was confirmed dead by a medical team at the scene,' he said. The body was then handed over to the police for further action.

Man found after vanishing during hike in Gombak
GOMBAK: Muhammad Daniel Zulkepli, who went missing while hiking at Bukit Lagong yesterday, was found by the public today after nearly 15 hours. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, said his department received a report about the incident at 6.08 pm yesterday. He said a vehicle and personnel from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene. "According to a report by the operations commander, a 26-year-old local man is believed to have gone missing while hiking with two of his friends. "The victim was last contacted at 1.41 p.m. yesterday, according to his friends and the Disaster Control Centre (PKB) that was set up at the location," Mukhlis said in a statement today. He added that the latest update from the scene reported that the victim was found by members of the public at 6.50 a.m. this morning. He said the rescue team is on their way to the location to bring the victim down from the hill.

4 suffer burns after boiler explodes at Selangor palm oil mill

(JBPM pic) PETALING JAYA : Four foreign workers suffered burns after a boiler exploded at a palm oil mill in Tanjong Karang, Selangor, this morning. Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the Bestari Jaya station received a distress call at 8.55am and dispatched personnel to the scene. The fire, which had resulted from the explosion when the workers were heating water in the steam boiler, was already extinguished by the time the team arrived. 'The four victims comprise one Indian national, two Nepali nationals and one Bangladeshi, all aged between 20 and 30. 'All the victims suffered burns on their legs and were taken to Tanjung Karang Hospital by the public before the fire department arrived at the scene,' Mukhlis said in a statement.

Four hurt in explosion at Kuala Selangor palm oil factory
KUALA SELANGOR: Four foreign workers have been injured in an explosion at a palm oil factory in Bestari Jaya here on Saturday (May 3) morning. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the incident happened after a steam boiler in the factory exploded. "Four victims were injured - two Nepalese, an Indian and a Bangladeshi national. All suffered burns to the leg areas and were brought to Hospital Tanjung Karang before responding firefighters arrived at the scene. "The fire was also extinguished before the responding team arrived," he said when contacted.

High-impact crash leaves Myvi vertical in Sepang fatality
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — A 25-year-old man was killed in the early hours of this morning after his car skidded and crashed into a road signpost near Kota Warisan in Sepang. The fatal incident occurred along the stretch from Bandar Serenia towards Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department. Assistant Director of Operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said a distress call was received shortly before emergency crews were dispatched from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Station. 'A team consisting of seven personnel and a fire rescue vehicle responded to the scene,' he said in a statement. Preliminary findings indicated that the Perodua Myvi the victim was driving lost control before colliding with the signpost. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Authorities have yet to released his identity.
