UN, Saudi Arabia call for upholding Tripoli truce
The United Nations and Saudi Arabia have stressed the importance of maintaining the current truce in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and advancing efforts toward a comprehensive political process that would pave the way for national elections.
The remarks came during a meeting on Monday evening between the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative in Libya, Hana Tetteh, and Ahmed Al-Shehri, chargé d'affaires at the Saudi embassy in Libya.
According to a statement published by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on its official Facebook page, the meeting also reviewed the latest developments in Tripoli and other parts of the country.
Discussions included the outcomes of recent sessions of the advisory committee, which aims to support national consensus-building efforts. News Tagged: UNSMIL
