ENOC and RTA Partner to Trial Green Hydrogen Mobility in Dubai
Dubai's push for sustainable transportation took a major leap forward as ENOC Group and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) signed a trial agreement to assess the feasibility of green hydrogen-powered mobility solutions. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and supports the UAE's ambitions to develop a robust green hydrogen economy. The agreement, signed at ENOC Group Headquarters, saw Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of ENOC Commercial and International Sales, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency, formalizing the collaboration. Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, witnessed the signing. Under this partnership, ENOC will supply green hydrogen fuel for RTA's hydrogen-powered city buses while providing technical support and refueling data. This will aid RTA in conducting a thorough feasibility study on integrating green hydrogen into its public transport network. Both entities have pledged to maintain the highest safety and operational standards throughout the project. Al Falasi emphasized the significance of green hydrogen in diversifying energy sources and advancing sustainability, stating, 'As the UAE focuses on developing a hydrogen economy, we are proud to be at the forefront of its adoption.' Bahrozyan echoed this sentiment, highlighting the potential for hydrogen to power various RTA transport modes, including buses and marine transport. Green hydrogen, produced through water electrolysis using renewable energy, emits zero carbon dioxide, making it a key solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing vehicle efficiency. This trial marks a pivotal step in Dubai's journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable transport system. News Source: Emirates News Agency
