MoHESR Partners with ENEC to Boost Emirati Engineering Talent
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has signed a strategic agreement with Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) to strengthen the National Scholarship Programme and support the UAE's future engineering workforce.
The partnership will offer high-quality education and training opportunities for Emirati students pursuing degrees in critical fields such as mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and chemical engineering. It also aims to ease their transition into the workforce through career development and job placement support.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Ibrahim Alsaadi, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary at MoHESR, and Ahmed Jassim Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Human Capital at ENEC, during a ceremony attended by senior officials from both organisations.
Under the deal, MoHESR will allocate annual scholarships for students in coordination with ENEC. Both parties will collaborate on selecting universities, aligning admission requirements, and managing applications to ensure the programme supports national development priorities.
Alsaadi highlighted the Ministry's commitment to aligning scholarships with market needs, stating that the goal is to transform academic pathways into launchpads for future leaders.
ENEC, for its part, will provide structured training and mentorship to scholarship recipients, and offer employment opportunities upon graduation as part of its long-term talent development strategy. 'This partnership supports ENEC's efforts to attract and prepare the next generation of specialists,'
said Al Shamsi. 'It reflects our role in advancing clean energy and strengthening the UAE's knowledge-based economy.'
The initiative underscores a shared commitment to building national human capital and enhancing the sustainability of strategic sectors through coordinated efforts between education and industry.
