France Condemns Israeli Strikes on Gaza, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Basant Ahmed Jerome Bonnafont, France's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, expressed his country's condemnation of the Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities that threaten the lives of civilians in Gaza. During a UN Security Council session on the Israeli bombardment of Gaza, Bonnafont welcomed the proposed Gaza reconstruction plan presented by Arab League member states during the Cairo summit on March 4. Moreover, he urged all parties to leverage the strengths of this plan to move forward, particularly concerning security and governance issues. Furthermore, French Envoy emphasized that Gaza's future cannot be separated from a comprehensive political resolution to the conflict.
