Ahsoka Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on May 22, 2025, 19:47 IST The Star Wars universe continues to expand with Ahsoka Season 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to the successful Disney+ series starring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. After an action-packed first season that introduced a new galaxy and rekindled fan-favorite stories from Star Wars Rebels, fans are eager for details on what's next for the former Jedi and her allies. In this article, we'll dive into Ahsoka Season 2's release date speculation, rumored cast members, potential plot points, and everything we know so far. Release Date Speculation for Ahsoka Season 2 While Disney and Lucasfilm have not announced an official release date for Ahsoka Season 2, several sources provide clues about its potential timeline. Filming began in late April 2025, as confirmed by Rosario Dawson and Dave Filoni at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. Given the production timeline of Season 1, which took roughly 15 months from filming (May 2022) to premiere (August 2023), a similar schedule suggests Ahsoka Season 2 could premiere in mid-to-late 2026, likely between July and September. Expected Cast for Ahsoka Season 2 The cast of Ahsoka Season 2 is shaping up to feature both returning favorites and new faces, with some changes due to the passing of a key actor. Here's who we expect to see: Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger . Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios Admiral Ackbar Potential Plot Details for Ahsoka Season 2 While specific plot details remain under wraps, Ahsoka Season 2 is poised to build on the cliffhangers and mysteries of Season 1. The finale saw Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridea, a planet in a new galaxy, while Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the main Star Wars galaxy, setting the stage for a dual-galaxy narrative. Here are the key plot points and speculations based on available information: Peridea and the Mortis Gods: Season 1 ended with Baylan Skoll standing on statues of the Mortis Gods (the Father, Son, and Daughter), which Dave Filoni confirmed will play a significant role. These Force entities, introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars , represent the balance, dark, and light sides of the Force. Baylan's search for a greater power may tie to the World Between Worlds or Abeloth, a rumored villain from Star Wars Legends who was once the Mother of Mortis. Ahsoka and Sabine's Journey: Stranded on Peridea, Ahsoka and Sabine will likely focus on finding a way back to the main galaxy, possibly through the World Between Worlds. Sabine's growing Force abilities, showcased in Season 1, will likely be explored further, with Ahsoka guiding her as a Jedi mentor. Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Rosario Dawson Honors George Lucas from the Set of AHSOKA Season 2: 'I Couldn't Be More Grateful' — GeekTyrant

While deep in production on Ahsoka Season 2, Rosario Dawson took a moment to send birthday wishes, and sincere thanks, to the man who started it all: George Lucas. The Star Wars creator turned 81 this week, and Dawson marked the occasion with a heartfelt message from the galaxy far, far away. 'HBD George Lucas. Thank you for creating our STAR WARS family that I couldn't be more grateful to be a part of…' she wrote on Instagram, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from set. The image, a shadowy silhouette of three familiar figures, is likely Dawson herself (Ahsoka), Dave Filoni (cowboy hat gives him away), and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren). It's a small but meaningful tribute that reflects how Star Wars continues to evolve under the stewardship of Filoni and the new generation of actors, while still honoring the legacy Lucas built. Season 2 of Ahsoka only recently kicked off filming, so we've got a long way to go before we see anything from the next season of the series, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this story continues. Fans got their first real tease of what's to come during Star Wars Celebration 2025, where Filoni unveiled concept art and confirmed the return of several key characters: Sabine, Ezra, Hera, and Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker. While story details are still under wraps, Season 2 is expected to pick up where things left off, particularly with the mysterious Baylan Skoll, last seen standing atop a Mortis statue, hinting at deeper Force mythology pulled from The Clone Wars . There's no release date yet, but as production continues, we're keeping our eyes peeled for more sneak peeks and any other news that breaks.
