Thunderbolts open SPHL semi-final with 2-0 win over Rivermen
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Evansville Thunderbolts take game one of the SPHL semi-final with a 2-0 win on the road against the Peoria Rivermen.
The Bolts found two goals in the third period to take a 1-0 series lead. Aidan Litke broke the game's tie with 18:40 left in the period. Logan vande Meerakker followed that up with some insurance with 9:08 to play.
Evansville can now advance to the SPHL President's Cup final with a win at Ford Center on April 18.
