The measures taken were in compliance with an NGT order issued in Aug 2024, following a plea by activists Pradeep Dahalyia and Prasoon Pant. The petitioners had filed the plea in 2023, and NGT had directed UPPCB to take action if the required environmental consents were not obtained by hospitality units by Dec 2024.
A joint committee constituted by the district magistrate has also disconnected electricity and sealed DG sets, the report stated.
