Apex Healthcare Bhd net profit for 1QFY25 dropped 7.1% to RM17.6mn from RM21.2mn in the same quarter last year on lower public sector sales. Solarvest Holdings Bhd reported a net profit of RM20.5mn for 4QFY25, nearly tripling from RM7.7mn a year earlier, driven by increased roll-outs of utility-scale solar projects under the Corporate Green Power Programme. For 1QFY25, Sarawak Plantation Bhd 's net profit rose to RM22.6mn from RM19.1mn in the previous corresponding quarter, mainly because of higher realised average selling price of crude palm oil and palm kernel.

Airbus opens new helicopter distribution centre in Ontario, Canada

French aviation firm Airbus Helicopters has officially celebrated the opening of its newly integrated distribution centre in Niagara, Canada. The 1950.96sqm facility is designed to enhance industrial operations and greatly increase the storage capacity for spare parts. This facility is expected to create more than 300 skilled positions and enhance Airbus' collaboration with Canadian suppliers. Additionally, it will improve inventory management and logistics, strengthening helicopter completions, component repairs, advanced composite materials production, and spare parts support. The new facility is meant to support the firm's existing manufacturing and completions centre in Fort Erie to expand its operations, enabling future growth and enhancing Airbus's ability to meet customer needs. The Niagara distribution centre will be crucial in optimising inventory management and streamlining logistics processes. This will support key business areas, including helicopter completions, component repair and overhaul, advanced composite materials production, and comprehensive spare parts services. Dwayne Charette, president of Airbus Helicopters in Canada, said, 'The expansion of our footprint in Ontario underscores the strategic importance of Canada to Airbus' global operations. This new integrated distribution centre represents a significant investment and a clear demonstration of our enduring commitment to innovation, local talent development, and Canadian leadership in aerospace.' He added, 'By deepening our roots here, we are not only proactively addressing the evolving demands of the helicopter market but also actively contributing to the economic strength and security of the region.' The newly established facility features Airbus's StreamFlex technology, a digital operations management system that provides real-time insights into customer orders, shipping objectives, and workforce distribution. This tool allows personnel to monitor daily picking and shipping processes, prioritise tasks, and allocate labour according to current demand. With this new expansion, the company claims to address the increasing demand for sophisticated twin-engine helicopters, such as the H135 utilised by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
