3 language courses at Khwaja university from next session

Lucknow: To cater to students from diverse backgrounds, the Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University (KMCLU), which already offers technical and professional courses in Indian languages such as Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu, will offer three international languages from the 2025-26 session. KMCLU vice chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja said apart from Sanskrit, Urdu and Hindi, the university will also offer Chinese, Japanese and Pali. At KMCLU, all undergraduate students are encouraged to study at least one Indian or foreign language, enhancing their communication skills and cultural competence. The VC said that the university's language laboratories have also been upgraded with advanced technology and language software. "The university has established four state-of-the-art language laboratories. These labs have modern software and tools to facilitate immersive learning. This aligns with the national vision of transforming lab-based knowledge into real-world applications, echoing the 'Lab to Land' philosophy," he added. He said, "We offer courses on translation, interpretation, grammar and vocabulary enrichment as part of the regular academic schedule."

Lucknow: is set to receive its first ever National Assessment Accreditation Council grade this year. KMCLU begins admission process for 76 courses

The admission to 76 courses at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) has been initiated, shared KMCLU vice chancellor Prof Ajay Taneja on Tuesday. He said there are 2,590 seats in 46 undergraduate courses and 936 seats in 18 postgraduate courses and 390 seats in diploma/certificate courses in the university. The application forms are available on the official website of the university The admission forms for general and OBC candidates will be available for ₹500 while for SC/ST candidates the forms will be available for ₹250. The forms for diploma programmes will be available for ₹100. The forms can be filled latest by June 15. Students must submit self-attested photocopies of the required documents along with the application form. The original migration/transfer certificate should be submitted at the time of counselling. This year the university is starting an undergraduate four-year apprenticeship programme - BCom (Retail Operations Management). The course will cost ₹30,150 annually. 'We are also starting a student-centric initiative wherein each student would be provided financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 to support studies rooted in India's traditional knowledge systems,' said Prof Taneja. He also assured that all pending faculty promotions would be expedited and while underscoring his three key priorities he listed - streamlining the admission process in mission mode, promoting research and innovation across disciplines, and ensuring the successful completion of the university's NAAC accreditation process. He also reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) across teaching and academic frameworks.

He added that all pending promotions of faculty members will be handled quickly and that the admission process will be made smoother and faster. "We are here to bring positive changes. From admission to academics, everything will be made better," he said. He also announced that new foreign language programmes will soon be introduced and postgraduate courses will be launched in subjects that currently have only undergraduate programmes. Recruitment for vacant posts, both teaching and non-teaching, will begin soon.

Prof Taneja appointed new V-C of language varsity

Prof Ajay Taneja, pro vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, was appointed vice-chancellor of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) for a three-year term by Uttar Pradesh governor and chancellor Anandiben Patel on Thursday. Taneja confirmed receiving the appointment letter and plans to assume his role within two to three days. 'My vision is to elevate the university towards academic excellence. With an upcoming NAAC inspection, I am optimistic about achieving a good accreditation rating,' he said. To enhance research, Taneja said he aims to inspire faculty and students to pursue high-quality projects. 'Quality research boosts a university's academic visibility. Strengthening research and academics will be my top priority,' he emphasised. Taneja also noted the research potential in digitised literature in languages like Arabic, Persian, and Sanskrit. 'There are significant opportunities for research in these areas. Additionally, I will focus on skill development and fully implementing the National Education Policy, 2020,' he said. He also laid stress on strengthening the university's placement cell. 'My goal is to ensure every student secures a job,' Taneja said.
