Recently, she made headlines when a video of her surfaced online which showed her selling suits and sarees. Following this, Charu revealed that she had moved from Mumbai to her hometown, Bikaner, with her daughter, Ziana. Since then, the actress has been sharing regular updates about her move with her fans. Now, she has shared a new video on her Instagram from the griha pravesh ceremony at her new home.
In the video, Charu holds her daughter Ziana as she takes her first steps in the new house with her feet dipped in kumkum. Charu follows her and carries the kalash on her head. She captioned the video: 'Nanhe Kadmo Ke Saath Griha Pravesh."
Earlier, Charu Asopa had shared a vlog about her shopping trip to buy household essentials. But rather than receiving support, she faced criticism for making expensive purchases. Some even questioned why she had flown instead of taking a train for her trip.
In her vlog, Charu addressed the backlash directly. She made it clear that she had never portrayed herself as financially struggling. 'I keep giving you guys updates. People commented why I travelled by flight and not train. The brand invited me and insisted on booking a flight. Some even made videos of me shopping and said, 'Yeh toh gareeb hai'. Pehli baat, maine kabhi nahi bola ke main gareeb hu. By God's grace, I'm managing fine. I don't want sympathy—I've taken a conscious break from TV to explore other things. That was my decision," she said.
Charu mentioned that although she is working with a limited budget, she is being careful with every purchase. 'If one has unlimited money, that person can choose anything. However, she needs to be careful now due to budget issues," she admitted.
Her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen, had also questioned the authenticity of her claims about financial struggles. In response, Charu shared a screenshot from his recent interview on her Instagram stories, hitting back at his comments. 'Wow, that's beautiful. Whatever I do is always drama for this man," Charu added.
Charu and Rajeev married in 2019 and became parents to a baby girl in 2021. The couple finalised their divorce in 2023.
