Gold On Wheels? Swiggy Instamart's 'Z+ Security' Delivery Leaves Internet In Splits

Last Updated: In the viral video, a Swiggy Instamart delivery executive is seen riding a motorbike with a security guard sitting behind him A video showing Swiggy Instamart delivering gold with a security guard in tow has gone viral on social media, sparking laughter and surprise at the lengths the delivery service is going to for customer satisfaction. In the viral video, a Swiggy Instamart delivery executive is seen riding a motorbike with a security guard sitting behind him. The guard is carefully holding what looks like a mini locker, presumably containing gold coins, and is also armed with a stick for protection. This eye-catching delivery comes after Swiggy Instamart had recently announced that it would offer gold and silver coin deliveries ahead of Akshaya Tritiya, a festival widely associated with purchasing precious metals for prosperity and financial growth. Partnering with Kalyan Jewellers, Swiggy Instamart said it will be delivering hallmarked and certified gold and silver coins in minutes. The coins include 0.5g and 1g gold options, along with 5g, 10g, and 20g silver coins, each decorated with elegant motifs. What Is Akshaya Tritiya? Akshaya Tritiya, also called Akha Teej, is one of the most sacred festivals in Hindu tradition. It marks a day of endless prosperity and good fortune. Celebrated on the third lunar day of the bright half of Vaishakha (April–May), it's considered highly auspicious for buying gold, starting new ventures, or making donations. In 2025, it was observed on Wednesday, 30 April, with the most favourable time (Puja Muhurat) between 5:41 AM and 12:18 PM. The video quickly caught the attention of netizens, who had a mix of amused and concerned reactions. Many joked about the over-the-top security, calling it 'Z+ level protection," while others pointed out that it might actually attract more attention than it prevents. One user joked, 'Security dada ko yeh dandaa aur tijori leke jo aapne bike pe bithaayaa hai bhai, kya kehne🙌👏 ab toh jisko na bhi pataa chaltaa use bhi pataa chal jaayegaa ki woh dekho!! Gold jaa rahaa hai (Security dada, the way you've made the security guy sit on the bike with a stick and a locker — hats off! 🙌👏 Now even people who didn't know will definitely find out — 'Look, there goes the gold!')" Another said, ' Piche wale guard ko dekh kar hi darr lag rha job @instamart😂 (Just seeing the guard makes me nervous)" Some suggested a more discreet method: 'If you had just put the coins in your pocket, no one would've even noticed. Carrying that big safe around is just asking for unwanted attention." Others simply found it adorable, with one saying, 'Why is this so cute!" While another user warned: ' Itni security breach karne me 😢Poore ek minute me chor inhe peet kar inse cheen kar ek km door nikal sakta hai (With such a security setup 😢 a thief could beat them up, snatch the gold, and get a kilometre away — all in just one minute!)"
