Roman Reigns In Talks For Key Role In Live-Action Street Fighter Movie

Roman Reigns is in the running for a major movie role. According to a new report from Deadline, Roman Reigns is one of the people being considered for a role in a new live-action film based on the iconic Street Fighter video game series. In addition to Roman Reigns, Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), and Noah Centineo (Warfare) are reported to be in talks to star in the live-action Street Fighter movie produced by Legendary Pictures. Reps for Legendary declined comment to Deadline, and the plot of the film remains a secret. So far, the film has brought on Kitao Sakurai as director. However, it's unclear who wrote and will produce the action film based on the Capcom video game series. According to Hollywood reporter Jeff Sneider (The InSneider), Roman Reigns will play the role of Akuma. Sneider also noted that Reigns is represented by Bad Toro. Reigns' past acting credits include playing Mateo Hobbs in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and a voice-acting role on Disney's Elena of Avalor series. Akuma is the younger brother of Gouken, Ryu and Ken's master. Akuma debuted as a secret final boss character in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. He has appeared in multiple games since then, including 2023's Street Fighter 6. Roman Reigns last competed at WrestleMania 41. Reigns faced CM Punk and Seth Rollins, who won the match and aligned with Paul Heyman. Reigns' last television appearance came on the April 21 episode of WWE RAW, when he was laid out by Rollins and his new partner, Bron Breakker. As is the case with pro wrestling, things could always change. However, Reigns is not expected to return to WWE TV for 'a while.'
